I had no idea. Outside of being close to the water along Bay Street, what's the appeal? The housing stock in the North End is downright ugly. There's literally almost nothing of redeeming urban value save for the odd stretch of here and there. Anything good is surrounded by acres of detached vinyl siding.

I look at those bay-and-gable semis on Ferrie just west of Bay Street and weep. Can you imagine if the whole of the North End looked like that?
