Yep--the top floor will be the lobby and restaurant/bar of the Four Seasons Hotel.

That's really awesome. Will that be the first really high public observation floor in Philly?

Depending on your definition of "really high", the CITC public top floor will be close to 900' above the street, but Paris-based Montparnasse 56 Group is opening an observation deck this autumn on the 57th floor of One Liberty Place, which I'm guessing should be around 800' above street level.

So if 800' qualifies in your book, then One Liberty Place will be first as of later this year

800' surely qualifies. That's really exciting to get two decks after not having any (for a while?).

The new tower will feature a restaurant on the very top floor of the building. This is an initial rendering of the top-floor restaurant, which — at 900 feet up — will be the highest publicly accessible place in Philadelphia by more than 400 feet(!) and will offer breathtaking views of Philadelphia and beyond.

The above caption obviously does not account for the new observation deck being opened at One Liberty Place.

One Liberty is opening up an observation deck? Cool!

3 Logan Square (the old Verizon Tower) now has a brunch place on the 50th/51st floors or will soon (can't remember when it opens).

It's nice to see so many public places atop skyscrapers in Philly opening. There used to only be city hall's deck which is just under 500'

Which was more than enough height in the old (i.e., pre-Liberty Place) days.

I'm actually surprised Comcast doesn't have tours. When I worked at AOL even they offered tours of the campus and they were 30 miles outside the city. And it was far less interesting to look at than the Comcast building.

Still, this is pretty awesome. The view from Comcast's cafeteria is just mind-blowing. I can't imagine being even higher. It's pretty cool, seeing Liberty Place and the Mellon Building from that high you can see how exaggerated all the detailing is, I guess so you can see it from the street. The nerd in me loves that.

Crane Time

Webcam is showing crane parts on the west part of the site. I didn't think they could wait much longer.

That had to be pre-911 for sure. Security is a lot different now, especially with buildings this big.

Unfortunately it is a crawler crane, not a tower crane.

Building Philly also posted a photo with a caption that the tower crane will be arriving in two weeks.

Looks like they are just getting as much as they possibly can out of mobile cranes. Didn't know they had this reach. But hey, if it gets the building built, fine with me.

Really? Cause that teal crane is just another bigger mobile crane.
