Ah yes, Crappy Tire. I'm not sure if this applies to all of them or not, but the one nearest my place has only 2 single occupant bathrooms (1 M 1 F) in the entire store. It happens to be in the auto repair area. I feel bad for anybody who works there because if you're on break and someone's using it you're fucked.

This building in Glenmore landing is ugly for a multitude of reasons. First of all Stephen Harper's MP office resides here. More to the point though this is newly renovated. I will admit it is an improvement over the original, but there's just no lipstick that will save this pig. They took the tophat off the clock tower but now it kind of looks like a smokestack.

Photo mine.

This was how it used to look.

What's with the fascination with clocks everywhere these days? We all have cell phones that have the time on them already.

This is an otherwise nice design ruined by awful spandrel. The newest tower of Glenmore Gardens in Calgary's SW.

Improvement?!? They took a cheap but consistent PoMo design and completely bastardized it! Total mess now.

I did. I thought it should be transplanted to Newfoundland. It would fit right in with some things.

While Regina doesn't have a lot of commie blocks we do have some great uglies. This one speaks volumes.

^ Commie blocks generally don't have balconies beyond maybe a tiny platform for clothes-drying. That is a bourgeois extravagance the people simply will not tolerate.

Plenty of Commie Blocks have massive balconies. But that one in Regina looks pretty decent actually. Nothing really ugly about it.

Volume is right. It's so massive it curves on streetview.

The original was still awful. I'm just glad they repainted all the faded blue a different colour. I think nixing the hat on the clock tower makes it look much more awkward too.

I wish they hadn't renovated the McDonald's next door though. It was awesome! It had a whole nautical theme with port holes and fake fish and stuff. Now it looks like a run of the mill McHorton's.

I can't remember if I've shared this or not:

It is easily the ugliest building in this city.

Does that exoskeleton have a function? It almost looks like there's a helipad on the roof or something.
