Question: Is there any way these guys could change this to 2 slightly taller towers instead of 3? I don't mean to be redundant....but you know how I am!

Better question would be if they could swap out this PoS with something more aesthetically pleasing. It can still be similar in nature but done by someone that understand proportions

Something to do with transferring land to or from the city is what I heard, not sure of the specifics...

WhipperSnapper: I think West Village is aesthetically pleasing. Proportion in nature, at least too my knowledge, is like art, it's in the eyes of the beholder.

I think this is an unfounded rumour. The alley that they did a land swap with beside that old house was approved at council over 6 months ago and is long done.

While council approved the swap as part of the land use file, there still needs to be a subdivision/road dedication file to ensure the right-of-way is transferred at the land titles office.

But the current phase is on the south side of the alley, and has nothing to do with the laneway beside the old house on the north side of they alley, so I still think the rumour is wrong.

It is definitely not wrong, I have a very reliable source. The delay is probably due to the alley not being moved yet, once it is finished, then all the land transfers will be finalized.

Once the land transfer is complete and the permit is in, yes. There will likely be a partial release for foundation and shoring prior to the full permit being released, so mid to late summer is my guess.

Apparently something similar to these other developments is being considered for the Staples site as well.
