Would YHM-YYC have been one of the first domestic Rouge flights? Could be an indicator that they may have a tough time going head to head against WS domestically?

Sorry but for a route that was to commence in just over two months any "fleet constraints" would have been ironed out well before now.
The elephant in the room is fin 214 C-FTJP that was recently written off. Would not surprise me if AC is going to switch one 319 back into mainline configuration for the summer peak.

The mainline narrowbody fleet is fully committed for the summer peak, loss of one airframe will have consequences.

Other than pulling down yyc-YHM (which has acceptable replacement thru yyc-YYZ 12x daily) there is no other route that can make these types of adjustments.

It's possible ACr is having trouble on yyc-YHM, but this would be route/market specific problem. ACr all ready competes very well with WS on over dozen routes, doubtful there would be a systemic issue on the domestic that does not also present itself on Transborder.

My own thoughts is that a vague reference to fleet constraints is in hopes the media won't link service pull down to the recent crash.

Yeah, I was wondering if that was a glitch or if it is due to overfly issues with a neighbour of Russia's?

In related news, I waited over an hour and a half for them to leave, they're still here.

Gave up part of my lunch hour in vain waiting. Now the flight isn't even showing up on Flightaware anymore.

If they are still here tonight when I'm working I'll try to get a shot of 3 B748's in one pic if CLX and CPA are here.

ABW9514 is now active on Flightradar24 so I'm assuming they are preparing to leave. I'll have to wander outside in a few minutes if they are still departing south, which they appear to be at the moment.

Except that the route appears to deviate in order to take them directly over Ukraine. Any idea what sort of cargo they're carrying?

Rouge is also scheduled to operate YYC-YHZ, YYZ-YXX, and YYZ-YLW.

The YLW service was formerly a summer seasonal mainline service on an E90. YXX service is new (I think) and also seems aimed at WS.

That proposed route must have been a glitch or a missing waypoint on the route, as you can see here they pretty much did the great circle to Moscow:

The 747 is an absolute thing of beauty. I had given up on seeing her so was pleasantly surprised as she climbed past me as I was walking to my vehicle after work. What a gorgeous aircraft and she was much quieter than I expected.

Thanks CZEG departure controllers if it was you who kept her from turning east too soon, you made my day.

During a break at work the other day I decided to check out the IFP information display on arrivals level as I noticed there was some new stuff added. They have some new animated renderings on the TV displays that are high quality and are in sort of first person view going from drop off, through check-in, security and finally to the gates. There is also a screen with a high quality animation of how the new people mover will work.

This might sound nitpicky, and overall based on the renderings I think the new terminal looks awesome, but I was a bit disappointed that the airport is going to keep using those tacky purple and yellow signs that are currently used. At least that's what shows in the rendering. I thought for sure they'd opt for something a little classier like this:

Or even something illuminated like this:

On a positive note I'm pretty sure I saw a Carl's Jr. logo on one of the food shops in the rendering while all the others were generic.
