I am hearing that Cathedral Hill project is going legal with some purchasers (not sure why yet). Not good for the builder but sounds profitable for me

What does this mean? The builder is suing some buyers?

Crossposting from general rumours thread

from a recent Colliers report

Quote:
During Q2-2015, PWGSC will announce the result of its tender for
130,000 square feet. Four properties are currently short listed: 219
Laurier Avenue West, 160 Elgin Street, 50 O’Connor Street and 412
Sparks Street -- although a recent lease renewal at 160 Elgin Street
essentially removes the building as a contender. Of the three remaining
buildings, the choice of PWGSC will impact the office market in a variety
of different ways. If PWGSC chooses to go ahead with 50 O’Connor
Street (Sun Life Centre), it will provide positive absorption for the Class
A market. This would then solidify the market’s existing positive
recovery. If 219 Laurier Avenue wins the bid, the 130,000 square feet
will be absorption of the vacancy left by the federal government when it
vacates the space in 2016. The proposed space at 412 Sparks Street
has not yet been constructed, so if this is chosen by PWGSC, there will
be minimal impact on the market as it will be a new building that is
added to the inventory fully leased.
412 Sparks is Cathedral Hill office tower

I think this is the best angle for the building. You can't see any of the mechanical roof..

The town homes seem out of place. Would be better with nice gardens.

What's with the bulldozer and mini back-hoe? Is there a project going on in GOTP&T?

I walk through the Gardens every day on my way to/from work. What I observed in the last while looks like they are renewing the landscaping.

Where is the Victims of Extremification Monument going?

I'm just glad Toronto has been saddled with the Memorial to the Victims of Density Creep.

Seems to me that there is a large, underused nice garden across the street...

I like the tower but the black top ruins it. It's just massive. They should have built some sort of distinctive top with usable space or even a glassy mechanical penthouse.

  • Prairie Garden (1,000 square metres)
  • Tundra/Rock Garden (275 square metres)
  • Woodland Garden under existing mature trees (450 square metres)
  • Canadian Horticultural Pioneers Garden, showcasing early cultivars and hybrids, bred specifically for the harsh Canadian climate by horticulturalists across Canada (190 square metres)

Glad it is unrelated to victims.

I drove by this building the other day, my first time in that section of downtown in a while, and boy was I disappointed. I had really high hopes for this building, and it's UGLY!

The exterior finishings look unfinished, and that massive mechanical room at the top is hideous!

A perfect match for what is below on Lebreton Flats.
