The ramp will probably be kept in play for a while, or at least till the pilings and the raft slabs are complete. I was told some pilings could take up to 20 hours to do.

That seems like a pretty high percentage for a downtown location, at least to me.

^I thought so as well, my guess is that due to cost, congestion and other factors we will see LRT and Bus go up, with driving hitting 50%.

I agree, I too think it will be lower.

I think the Stantec/Delta pit has to be one of the largest ever for the City. I can't think of any other previous project that would be as large.

Canada Place? I remember that pit being 9 stories deep and of course the building is rediculously long.

Looks about right.

Football games just barely crack 50%, and that's with next to zero parking, a massive park & ride network and the area being practically inaccessible on game day by car

Really? Colour me surprised. If I had to pull a number out of a hat I would have guessed 30~35%

^ yup.. Transit ridership is roughly double for football games than it is for hockey games

The last time we met with the Esks they indicated about a 51% transit usage. Rexall has about a 20% usage

They're planning for worst case scenario. I think once we have a better transit system in 5-10 years the percentage using transit will go up significantly.

But there will always be those coming to the game from out of town, with 30% of season ticket holders being from out of town.

I wonder though how many will already be at hotels and such. They would need a parking stall per se, but not right in the arena district.

Those numbers are exactly what you'll see for the foreseeable future

There's ample parking downtown and people will take advantage of that. The only way to reduce it will be to artificially constrain parking in the area. However there's a ton of parking available and there's 1000+ more stalls coming online in the next 18 months.

Hockey fans drive. Whether to Rexall or to Rogers. No different

There's still a huge chunk of the city that is underserved by LRT.

Fact is, if you're in the west end, you're already driving almost central to the University station, or south side to Century Park. A lot of people would probably just rather drive.
