Attendance is historically better in the fall than in the summer, for all teams. This could just be because the games begin to take on more importance, but others have suggested it may be because people go away a lot during the summer. If it ever was shifted back, it'd be interesting to see which one of these scenarios is the true reason.

Either way, I still think it should stay where it is, because like it or not, NHL playoffs are the biggest thing happening in early summer, and even if no Canadian teams are in it, it will get the majority of coverage. Of course, that's easy to say when the worst part of late fall here is rain and the stadium has a roof. If I ever go to a Grey Cup in the Prairies, maybe I'd be able to sympathize a little more.

Most people here would take snow or some cold over a downpour in spring. -25 is well below normal temperatures for November even on the prairies.

Also, the ground is basically still thawing out on the praires (sometimes still with some snowpack) in April. Not conditions for which it is conducive to pick one's team...

Starting too early, you also run into the issue of the timing of the drafts; like it or not, the NFL draft timing does have an impact on the CFL. Some players are unlikely to report to camp if it is too early.

The CFL is basically in its "goldilocks zone" where it is. If it had more power and was better supported within Canada (media, corporations/sponsorships, etc) it could make some unilateral moves, but other than a shift of 1 or 2 weeks tops, which they are already doing now due to scheduling in a 9th team, they can't do much further.

You can really make out the Indy track in that picture.

It makes the Exhibiton grounds seem barren (which I guess they are in a way), but all that space is needed in late August!

Downtown Toronto is huge. Skyscrapers from the Lake to North of Bloor.

This is a huge factor. The CFL relies a lot of players who did not get swooped up in the NFL system and its draft. Early post draft mini camps for the NFL wind down in late May, teams have OTAs in late may also. I believe with players who get sent off then having a chance to come up to Canada to join CFL squads for training camp.

Would be interesting though. Have players choose between lesser pay and a better chance to play football in the CFL, or risk going to the NFL camp and not being selected and having to wait another year to try out for the NFL with no chance to continue to develop in the CFL.

Interesting thinking I know, but hey it's fun to think out loud.

Not sure if this was missed. But over the offseason all the 200 level seats in the Rogers Centre were replaced (save for the TD club seats in the 200 level behind home plate)

Originally half the seats on the 200 level were of the padded club variety. Now they're replaced with new albeit non padded regular seats.

Nope they sure don't, it is amazing to watch up close. I drive by everyday on my way to work and am always like WOW everytime.

Rogers centre to me looks like a big concrete old blue mess. It honestly Looks like they hired 100 people with cans of blue paint and just let them go to town. It needs some contrast. It looks so cheap in that building.

here is my vision for rogers centre

Obviously they aren't going to tear down the seating a rebuild inside the structure so if the seating footprint is going to stay the same they need to rip all the boring old blue seats out of the building and replace them with bad @ss leather black and blue seats with a maple leaf on them or something to make them pop a bit,The scattered pattern design that TD place and commonwealth has seen would suite rogers centre great

The next thing is to replace the roof panels with translucent panels to let natural sunlight in. this will definitely liven up the place and make it seem like less of a cave. It will also help with the natural grass. Have enough led lighting in the rafters to make BC place look like child's play

Ribbon boards on more levels. And a new jumbo tron with more than just 1 screen. (I know alot of you dont like ribbion boards but IMO they add to the experience and modernize an old venue

Seamless glass on the hotels. Nothing looks more hideous than those old nasty white drive threw windows that stick out like a soar thumb. A nice chrome tinted window that looks like a giant Payne of glass would modernize the place a ton.

LESS BLUE AND GREY ON THE INSIDE. everything in that building is blue the hand rails the walls everything. and if its not blue its concrete grey

Then theirs the exterior. This is up for interpretation

I know a lot of people don't care for Skydome but all I see is potential. A new stadium would be nice but in terms of location and functionality, it's hard to improve upon the dome. I believe there will be tonnes of both structural and cosmetic improvements made to the stadium over the coming years that will put it on par with newer stadia around the league - Beeston has said as much. Think grass. Think dirt. Think sunny Sunday afternoon.

I always wondered, why does the 500 level extend so far up beyond the flood lights on one side but not on the other? It's not symmetrical and they could have increased capacity by a couple thousand seats had the replicated the amount of rows on the other side. (of course now they don't need the extra capacity but when the dome was built bigger was better)
