I think people are getting tired of looking like billboards for some of these brands. Sometimes there's not much fashion behind their clothing beyond a huge logo plastered in front. A couple of weeks ago I saw an obese person wearing pink matching sweats with Under Armour written large in purple top and bottom. I have been having trouble unseeing the image ever since.

Lightbulb List of Shops from Retailer Insider

In addition, teens are going more towards Fast Fashion brands such as Zara, H&M, Top Shop (Top Man), Joe Fresh and Uniqlo to name a few.

Zara Home has been confirmed so has Massimo Dutti, which both are owned by Inditex, a Spanish company. To guess, I would agree that Ted Baker, Tory Burch and Armani Exchange could open; I also would think H&M. I also heard that Uniqlo is coming to Canada and has already found locations in Toronto, maybe Rideau Centre could be a good fit for the Ottawa location. I also read that Rudsak is expanding in Canada. Here is a list of other stores that I see at most large shopping malls in Toronto, Montreal and even Ottawa that could potentially open: Joe Fresh, Jack and Jones, John Varvatos, Bench, True Religion Jeans, Desigual , Brooks Brothers, Browns Shoes, Clarks , Steve Madden and maybe a return of Tommy Hilfiger and Tristan.
I subscribe regularly to the Retailer Insider. While I was reading the Retailer Insider today, I saw that both Aquascutum London and Black Goat Cashmere are coming to Ottawa. It does not say which shopping centre. Maybe Rideau Centre or St. Laurent might take those two shops. Who know, maybe the Black Goat Cashmere and Aquascutum London could go where the former cinemas were at the Rideau Centre. Loga0082

Aquascutum used to have a shop on Sussex. Ely Kazakis from Harry Rosen used to work there before he went to Holt Renfrew.

... Hey, that was me. You'd be surprised at how much energy eating takes and wearing the right gear makes all the difference. That reminds me, I was with my grandparents that day but they disappeared during lunch. I've had heart burn ever since.

Bridgehead’s 17th shop is to go into the renovated Rideau Centre, opening onto Rideau Street between H&M and Simons, in 2016.

“We will have a Rideau Street entrance and a mall entrance, where the old building meets the new one, at the new entranceway across from the LRT stop,” says Clark [Tracey Clark, founder of Bridgehead]. “We are thrilled to be a part of the Rideau streetscape.”

I would love to try the Bridgehead, once it is opened. I am willing to try freshly squeezed orange juice. I drank freshly squeezed orange juice all the time, when I was in Spain and Portugal last month. Freshly squeezed orange juice tastes better than bottles and carton orange juice. Do you think that the Bridgehead will be in the location where the former cinemas were on the 4th floor? The Simon's and H&M store are sort of close to where the old cinemas were.

According to the Citizen article, it'll be on the ground floor, with a street entrance.

It seems that H&M is confirmed as a tenant.

This.

Add Aeropostale to the list. The clothing wasn't fashionable, just the brand. People looked like idiots circa 2006 with this fashion trend.

I am not a fan of logos with big Aeropostale or Hollister writing pasted on the front either, but I did like the Hollister polo shirts which just have the small company logo, no letters. I still have a few of those as I like the quality of the cotton and the comfy fit for my body type, hence why I would like to see Hollister at Rideau.

Your name is literally promoting a brand of skateboard shoe.

Cinemas

Where did you hear the word cinemas from? I know that they recently opened the Lansdowne park cinemas over 2 weeks ago, even though it is not listed as part of the movie theatres in the Ottawa Citizen. There is no mention of new cinemas at the Ridwau Centre. I do not know what the permanent lease is going to be for the Rideau Centre cinemas. We will have to wait and see.

I did back-to-back visits to the menswear dept. of Nordstrom and Harry Rosen's. I think that Rosen's may have more stuff that is pricier than Nordstrom.

Brought a watch to Birks for servicing. There new digs are very bright and gleaming, with Cartier and Breitling boutiques on either side of the main showroom. It will be interesting how the new Tiffanys stacks up with them.

In spite of a lack of windows, the new food court is an improvement over the old one which had become very tacky. Seeing as how I like Mediterranean food, Jimmy the Greek, will remain one of my favourites.

There are several coffee shops around the Rideau Centre. However, they have little or no seating where you can relax , sip your coffee and read a newspaper or magazine. You pretty well have to take your coffee over to the food court if you want to do that. I would like to see more such seating throughout the complex.

Photo of pedestrian bridge at Rideau Centre

This is a nice photo that you took of the pedestrian bridge. Which pedestrian bridge is it? I cannot tell in a picture, especially when there is construction going on. Are they demolishing the bridge or just renovating it?

I've heard mixed stories... Are they really going to demolish the 2nd bridge? if so.. why?

I like the connectivity.. looks kinda cool too.

This is the east bridge, which is being renovated.

The east bridge is the one between near where Mrs. Tiggy Winkles is and the Bay where the escalators are. I think that they are tearing down the west bridge near where Grand& Toy use to be.
