Given that this is a forum populated by users interested in development and skyscraper construction, I'm of the opinion that any criticism of Mrs. Brewer should start and end with those concerns. Being assertive online is fine, but making nasty remarks that focus on someones appearance or gender undermines this community and its credibility.

I'm not here to stir the turd, so I'll leave it at that. Vive la différence.

Her horrifying appearance has nothing to do with gender. If she was a male, she would be equally as appalling to look at.

I don't know the woman personally, maybe she's nice, maybe she's not. However, in a way I still feel like this city is still recovering from the 9/11 attacks and is in the process of mustering up the confidence to build taller buildings again, which is a wonderful thing. If someone tries to impede such wonderful growth, they are automatically a garbage person and borderline traitor who hates America. (I'm exaggerating a little on that last part but still.)

The primary way that women are insulted is via their appearance. This is how misogyny works (see most of the attacks launched against Hilary Clinton).

If you're going to attack someone, attack their ideas, don't shame their bodies.

I'm not saying ad hominem attacks are useful, but lets not pretend she is being attacked for being a woman, unless of course you have evidence to suggest that. I invite you to look at all the personal insults levied at NIMBY's from members of this forum - many of those NIMBY's are men...

I second this! Anyways, these latest renderings/that central park render/pic was amazing! This building will be spectacular IF they can pull off a decent facade. With the top portion the way it is, this whole building really is going to rely on the materials for the facade.

According to the floorplan, the kitchen should be on the left side, but it is not shown in this rendering.
Could be that it is a multiple-level, upper floor unit, so the kitchen is on the face of the building facing 57th street, with the bedrooms in the upper floor(s)



This Driveway must be on the old Steinway Building, I guess on the 58th street side.

This would be that building on 58th street side with the driveway. As you can see, it matches exactly that driveway, with the two entrances, the five windows and even the other small door between the two main entrances.

They will demolish the first floor plate and make the driveway double height.

So this is definitely my favorite tower going up anywhere. The proportions are amazing, and it's so central, right at the midpoint of the park's width, assuring dead-center park views.

I almost seem to forget about Verre. This took the spotlight it seems. While Verre will be stunning, this seems to have topped it. They really outdid themselves, and it shows.

Tower Verre is still my favorite, though this one is close behind. But the proportions of this tower are the bonuse to the skyline. Much has been said about the slenderness of the supertall residentials, but in the end, the Manhattan skyline needs these beauties. With the huge office towers of the Hudson Yards, Midtown East, and even the WTC, it's nice to see soaring, slender towers making an impact on the skyline, a throwback to the glory days when the tallest towers stood that way.
