New hospital replacing Penn Towers. The hole in front of 3600 will probably sit for awhile. It looks as they are doing work to shore up land next to garage. (Filling dirt back in)
I keep hearing that we are moving into that yet to be designed building in front of the garage by 2017. It will add 10-15 minutes per day to our commute and cut the regional rail selection is half give or take so they can take their time on that one. :^)

This is the Drexel building I was talking about a while back. Looks a little different than the first drawings I saw with a nice addition of the stairs and glass podium.
Could that have been GlaxoSmithKline before it decided to move its US headquarters to North Carolina and its remaining Philly operations to the Navy Yard? That appears to have been designed for its former Center City location.
Drove past this morning and this building in northern liberties was being demolished. I think they may be moving forward with the density-rich cafe/auto show room/apartments plan!!! It also looks like they are replacing all the side walks on the north side of spring garden for the gateway!

That would appear to be the space. But dont think this would be a GSK proposal as two things
One the US HQ did not move to NC (they are and have been considered split between the two location for nearly a decade) two GSK has and had wanted to move to the Navy yard for years. And actually built the space to mirror their building (Main HQ) just outside the core of London

Guess I was thinking of the then-new US CEO (or whatever they call him) being based in NC instead of Philly (where that position had been based) when that change occurred a few years ago (and was covered fairly extensively in the Inquirer).
As a commercial real estate broker, Bill Luff is a professional optimist: "I am predicting an office building will be built in Center City, 300,000 to 700,000 square feet, this year."
That would be the first mostly "speculative" building here in more than a decade, Luff told me from the Philadelphia office of Colliers International, where he's senior managing director.
I can't quite grasp whether this statement is speculative or he has inside information. But thought I'd share it anyway. Maybe someone else here as info and can put two and two together??
For what it's worth, FMC has 622,000 sq ft of office space. Also it bears emphasizing Luff is talking about a spec building, so it's not Comcast 3 or anything.

I heard last year of a 600 foot office building in the works.
