Just thinking what 1144 is going to do to this view. Halfway up the Four Seasons spire....

Same story though. Everyone needs to choose "yes," and before that they need a lot more information than they'd ever have by now for a summer start.

Little impact except to push downtown condo prices through the roof. Recently saw a 731 sq. ft. unit in the Barkley ('60s/'70s era tower on 16th and Larimer) go under contract for $325K. It's insane. Dickey Lee is the same kind of Boulder type Democrat that her predecessor Morgan Carroll was - idealistic with no sense of the real world outcomes from poorly thought out laws (or worse she's protecting her lobby) - and I'm as liberal as they come. She has helped prevent shoddy construction though, just not in the way she intended. There is no shoddy construction because there is no new condo construction at all and hasn't been for years.

On a more positive note - The Hotel Kimpton and office building looks to be ramping up. GE Johnson has installed all new contruction fencing and there's some activity on site.

Walter "Buz" Koelbel is coming to Central Denver.

"Koebel & Co. to partner on Denver health-care technology campus"
Mar 25, 2015 by Molly Armbrister, Denver Business Journal
Quote:
Denver-based development company Koelbel & Co. will partner with health care entrepreneur Mike Biselli to build a health-care technology company at an undetermined location in north-central Denver.

Biselli and Koelbel are considering a number of different locations for the campus, Biselli said. These locations are in the Five Points, RiNo and Curtis Park areas, but the exact location and the name of the campus are still to be determined.

Biselli said. "The attention and interest I continue to receive from national leading health care providers, payers, technology companies/startups, academia, as well as political leaders, has been incredible and is a testament to what all of us are creating."

Koelbel & Co are also planning townhomes behind the Industry building in RiNo as well.

Anyone else catch this article in the Post today: Denver Buyers Up Their Game To Be Last Bidder Standing

I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry about the fact that buyers now feel compelled to send sellers "love letters," home-baked goods and selfie videos to earn the privilege of buying their houses...

Oh we totally sent a personal letter when we bought our house. We wanted the house before a flipper got it, and wouldn't have been able to out-bid a flipper if (when) one materialized.

Denver County population July 1, 2014 - 663,862, an increase of 15,461 or 2.38% over the previous year.

Denver CSA population July 1, 2014 - 3,345,261, an increase of 67,952 or 2.07% over the previous year.

CSA increase since 2010 - 254,387

Denver is once again the largest county in Colorado by 343 people! Take that El Paso County.

With Denver now holding the top spot for most populous city and county in our great state, I figure I should join in this conversation, which I have been following for a number of years. To begin, does anyone know any specifics about the project on the east side of Grant between 6th and 7th? A makeshift fence has been up for a few weeks and the City's development spreadsheet only denotes multifamily. Lastly, while in line at the gas station at 10th and Broadway, I overheard a customer explaining to the clerk that a employee at Arby's (11th and Broadway) said they would be closing soon and a residential development is in the works. Anyone aware of this? While I can appreciate fast-food at times, I would gladly welcome an urban fabric repair job at this corner.

Given that the Honorable Mayor Hancock has publicly spoken in favor of a construction defects fix, I wonder if City of Denver at his urging might follow the leads of Lakewood and Lone Tree? Other than getting the needed votes they already have good examples to copy.

[QUOTE=TakeFive;6965646]WELCOME

What a warm welcome. If you are interested here is the progress of 17W at Union Station. In the centre you can see the excavation for the Wholefoods Kale counter.

Thanks for the picture. From what I heard the center was going to be a kumbucha processing plant/quinoa refinery?

Looks like the existing buildings at 7th and Sherman have been demoed in preparation of the new apartment.

Just spent the last few days in Denver. From SLC, and I was very impressed with the city. You guys have an awesome downtown. You all should be very proud of your city. I especially like 16th street and all the rise of apartments in downtown. There was one particularly tall high rise apartment that I liked. It looked pretty new, but I am not sure on the name of it. Again, a very cool city.

I was also impressed with the airport, DIA. It was pretty busy but it never felt too crowded. The sky bridge to concourse A was sweet. Also the hotel being built has an awesome design. I was very impressed with the airport to say the least. The airport is a great way to show off Denver even if you are just making a connection. The airport has a very welcoming feel. I hope Emirates Airline eventually flies into Denver. I recently read that Denver officials are pushing hard to get a nonstop flight to Dubai. While at the airport, I was able to see Lufthansa, Air Canada, British Airways, and a flight departing for Tokyo...very impressed with the international lineup at DIA.

Again, great city!

Thanks for the kind words

I'm doing the Mountain West tour this week. In Boise right now for Treefort (what a cool town) and headed to Salt Lake on Sunday. We really do have some great cities here in the Mountain West.

More town houses coming to LoHi at 1819 Boulder St. I drove by the site today and it appeared to be under construction.
