Yeah a bunch of us Calgary forumers are miffed about the CBE building. No permit to take it down yet but a developer has since bought the parcel and there are rumours of a 2 tower project potentially taller than the Bow (though apparently with a spire). I couldn't find a pic of the other side (main entrance) to use which is a shame because that is by far the coolest angle. If any of you are curious just google Calgary Board of Education building. It's like a brutalist alien space craft or something.

I like the Colossii, at least some effort went into them. Their competitor's Silvercitys that litter the landscape don't even bother to hide the fact they are just prefab big box stores with theatres inside them.

Drove past it a few times but only noticed it the other day. It is the Jehovah's Wittiness's "Kingdom Hall Complex" (or whatever). For those who don't know, it is in Aylmer, Québec (now part of Gatineau, Québec) near the western most bridge to Ottawa.

There is one in downtown Ottawa like this too... but it's pregnant. I will try to find a picture of it.

OK, not exactly the same, but still pregnant after all these years:

Her next-door neighbour just to the west is pregnant too!

That's a terrifying street-level streetscape.

That's Centretown - the reality of urban Ottawa. The funny thing about the Queen Elizabeth towers is that some of the apartments inside are beautiful - huge by today's standards. Sure wouldn't want to live in one, however.

It's one of my favourite buildings in Ottawa. It's in your face enough to have style.

Endlessly fugly. I want to hammer down that clock tower (Malek's palace) with provided hammer.
For a suburban condo tower, I like it.
