Tundra Music recently opened in International Village at 257 King East.

Apparently this is there 3rd location (other 2 are in Toronto and Whitby)

Unbelievable energy and excitement ALL OVER downtown last night.

I strongly urge everyone to go downtown tonight and tomorrow to catch the buzz and tons of great music everywhere.

I was down on Friday night and it felt almost like a supercrawl. There were people everywhere and the buzz was definitely there. Also good to read about that new music store. There hasn't been one down there since Payne Music closed up.

Speaking of Payne Music, there were people inside renovating it last week so I imagine there will be a new business opening there soon.

This article, about the former Ward One city councillor taking a job with a planning firm, makes mention of "a proposed 10-storey condo development in the Main and Margaret area." I had not heard of this before, but someone I was talking to made mention of a condo developer with a proposal at Main and Margaret wanting the municipal government to install wider sidewalks there. He heard this from someone else, so hardly solid facts.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard anything about a development here.

There is a parking lot just off Main on Margaret - nice one.

Agreed, it is very nice. And there's only one lot between the parking lot and Main, so maybe that would be the best guess at a site. On the south side, there is a vacant lot right where Margaret ends, and next to it a one-story house, so I thought that might be it. The parking lot and the building on the north side might be a better bet. And I can see a developer being hesitant to build between King and Main there as things are configured now- residents would be trapped!

I'd be grateful if anyone digs anything up; this stretch of Main is crying out for development.

Anyone have photos of that block under renovation on James N between York and Vine? Really curious to know how that one is shaping up.

The back of the building looks pretty much the same, and the front is still covered up with plastic so what's underneath remains a mystery.

There's some sort of arcade/barcade/bar/club/venue thingy opening up downtown soon.

No real details yet besides an instagram account.
