Was the chain not started by the Boston family, from Alberta I think? I don't think the name has anything to do with the city of Boston. Although most people think it does.

At the rate they're going, it's just a matter of time before they start serving Delissio pizzas. Actually, I'm not entirely certain they don't already do that. I don't get why anyone voluntarily goes there... the ghetto pizza joints in the grungiest parts of Winnipeg make better pizza for a lot less money than BP.

Delissio's would be an improvement over the crap they serve now. They used to have really good pie at one time.

I never knew they started in Edmonton. Thanks for digging that up.

I got to witness the monstrosity that is the Princess Towers in Kingston this weekend.... probably the worst looking building I have seen in person in Canada. What were they thinking????

That's a very good candidate for Kingston's ugliest... the Empire Life HQ by the water is another possibility.

It started off as some sort of weird rental experiment... people who lived there got very cheap rent in exchange for an obligation to spend a few hours of their time a week doing work on the building. The idea was that you're basically paying rent with labour instead of money. It failed horribly and became a standard rental a few years later.

The worst thing Princess Towers did, was it basically destroyed people's opinions of highrises in the core. No high rises have gone up anywhere in the prewar city since because of public anger that stemmed entirely from the memory of Princess Towers. And as this is a poor city there's plenty of demand for residential high rises, at least 20-30 of them exist... all in the suburbs for the most part.

It's soon to be overshadowed by new developments, thankfully, as the city has finally broken out of its high rise downtown stigma.

This might be a controversial choice, but I find Edmonton's new Airport control tower kinda ugly. The fluid metallic bands should be cool, but the shape is so awkward. It just ends up looking really hokey and dated IMO.

This is another case of attempting to be original but ending up looking very tacky.

I realize this isn't Canadian but I came across this monstrosity from Miami and thought it merited a place on this thread none the less. I can't think of anything this bad up here at least.

It doesn't.

Every way you look at it it resembles a tower lost in a turd. Too bad as normally I like Dialog's designs.

Sheraton Centre Toronto. Very nice on the inside however the exterior is a hideous concrete monstrosity.

The gold is just so tacky. And their shape is awkward.

These office buildings simply scream suburbia... But even in Laval they'd look awkward as hell.

Still doesn't look too bad to me but I can only really be sure if I see it in person.

I think it looks great! It is supposed to resemble snow drifts, which it does very well.
