I park in that garage every day, and already have to go up to the 9th or 10th floor to find a decent spot..with the EVO crowd, I don't know where all of the employees from the new highrise will park..

Hopefully, many will use 30th St. Station..

Seems that inevitably the roads will not be able to handle all the suburbanites driving in and people will default to taking the train or moving to the city.

I would be surprised if the plan for the garage was to provide parking for FMC employees. No CC office building does this as far as I know (could be wrong).

Actually, I can think of one, only because I worked in it back in the 80's. The one building is 1818 Market St. (Unless they took the garage out.) They were ALWAYS reconfiguring the lobby, etc. Adding escalators, open space revision, and on and non. I haven't driven by it lately. But if they didn't change it, they have a garage for cars.

The garage was initially built as parking for the IRS offices in the old post office building. I would think at least 75% of the people going to FMC wont be driving. You have major train station 2 blocks north.

I heard IRS was relinquishing a lot of parking spaces assign to them because of a lack of use or need for them.

Any guesses as to when it tops out? My guess around late Mar, early Apr. Definitely will be imposing when the convention kicks off.

I actually think earlier, possibly December 2015 or January 2016. Because think about it, opening is very end of 2016. Even once it's topped out, they will not have finished the exterior, let alone the interior. So I would say they top out, i.e. reach the highest point even if it's just with a bit of concrete, by the end of this year. And when the convention comes, the exterior should be done.

Alot of people dont realize our skyline is much bigger than it is usually depicted. U City is also part of the "business district". Enjoy.

Thats the spot I think the future skyline shots will all be taken from. Probably a good chance the Penn extension on the east bank will see some height at some point too, adding to the great view...
The spot best shows the CITC and both Liberty Places, will have the new CHOP tower, EVO, FMC, 1 Riverside, W/Element, and a wide angle lens could get the SLS in there too. Plus the river in the foreground, with the trail bridge.
