How much available space there is in Telus Garden? I was under impression Telus itself and Amazon would be leasing most of the tower, not leaving a lot space for any other tenants.

The article indicates they might be consolidating in Vancouver.

And they did do a bunch of hiring last year right? Maybe they have multiple offices. Actually purchasing the building seems weird though.

Probably, if Telus is moving out of the building being sold.

Bull Housser is in there too - probably 3-4 floors?

If Telus won't potentially even be leasing in this tower, will they rename it to... Amazon Garden?

I don't think it's in question that Telus will occupy a big chunk of space in the new Telus Garden office tower.

It is selling the old William Farrell Building - the subject of the 2000-ish second skinning - which also has an atrium connecting to Telus House (the older Seymour St. building).

In case anyone was wondering what was going on in the landing between the Fairmont pacrim and Shaw Tower, it was a major new art installation that was unveiled tonight. Hopefully one of the better photographers here can snap some day and night pics of it to share.

You intrigue me, man. I need to check what you are talking about tomorrow after work. Is it visible from the street level? Has the penis devil incarnated?

Yes it's visible from street level, and the new installation is something worthy of being in between two marque towers. I have a pic but it's not good enough to share.

Ah, now I know what you talk about. I haven't seen it yet, but will have to check it out. Let's see if I take my DSRL for a walk on weekend, although I am sure we will have Clayton Perry or someone more professional posting a nice photo soon. He's fast and great.

BTW - it occurred to me that the sale probably kills any prospect of a video board at Seymour & Robson.

We're #59!

I was just looking at the diagrams for Canada and our tallest Shangri-La comes in at #59 on the list. Of course Toronto occupies most of the list but I was a little taken aback when I see Edmonton at #4 and #30, and Calgary ( making us look like a little backwoods) with #12, #19, #22, #35, #40, 42, 43, 57 & 58. There's a few from Montreal ahead of us too.
C'mon Vancouver, screw those friggin' view cones, downtown is crammed with those 400 footers, let's put a couple together for an 800 or 900 footer!

Yeah, pretty much what you describe. It's a good addition to the area, but nothing worth traveling for. See it if you are in the area. Nice to have some public art.

I deleted all the viewcone related talk. It needs to go in the viewcone thread from now on.

Here are a few pics of the new art installation between the Shaw Tower and Fairmont Pacific Rim. To see more, go here.

All my pics, March 5 '15.

With all the uber rich folk and expensive real estate in Coal Harbour, I thought those looked like Money Trees.....the residents at Show Tower/Harbour Green are growing their own money

^ How long before a car alters it's appearance? Heck, a drunk behind the wheel of a big truck could take out the whole installation in one swipe.
