Yeah I was kinda worried about the stone wrap around. On the rendering it looked like green watermelon type. Now it's looks more blue. Looks good!

Now we just need a huge update to Commonwealth Square and the whole block will look fantastic.

McMaster plans spring opening of health centre

AM900 CHML | Hamilton News Ken Mann February 04, 2015 04:48 pm

McMaster University is targeting late spring for the official opening of its downtown health centre.

University President Patrick Deane has provided updates on a range of initiatives, during his annual update to City Council.

Deane adds that McMaster remains in the running for a provincial grant toward construction of a downtown campus that would bring about one thousand students into the core.

City Council voted last fall to provide the land for that proposal, likely one of its parking lots.

Deane expects decisions to be made on that program around the time of the next provincial budget.

He has also deflected the credit for the growing number of students who are choosing to stay in Hamilton after graduation. He notes that the McMaster Student’s Union has worked hard to promote life off-campus and beyond Westdale.

Excited to see this one finished. It's a gorgeous addition to the core.

the green stone is an awesome touch. really brings colour to the downtown which is usually full of greys and blacks.

I agree, it's a nice touch. Looks like the building will be done in a month or two. It'll be nice to get that sidewalk back.

This is the nicest building downtown since Witton Lofts. I was not happy with the loss of the Singer building but I've come around. Wish the AGH would do something splashy with their backyard...

I agree with all of the comments. Definitely the most elegant new building downtown. I hope this architecture carries over into their new residence building.

I really hope the AGH gets the money they need for that reno. I do wish they'd opt for a tiered staircase with wheelchair ramps and gardens for the square instead of that interlock hill facing Main.

^Anything the AGH/ City can do with that space is a good thing considering it's totally useless in its current incarnation. However, until Main is slowed somewhat, it'll remain, primarily, a no-go zone. Same with the City Hall forecourt.

I'd also like to see Summers Lane 'opened up' a little so it feels a little less like you're entering an underground parking garage and a tad more...anything else! — 1970s...

Hello, this is my first post and look forward to more creative Hamilton talk.
Just wanted to say I think you'll find the green details are actually copper panels. I've been able to get a close up look and some photos.
