considering the amount of steel on site I dont see the lot reopening. I walked by and there was a flatbed there making delivery of more steel for shoring up the excavation. I'm assuming they are either looking for or relocating some utilities adjacent to the RC hotel right now. They were only working around one hole today.

They are waiting for us to confirm all the details and do all the hard work for them so that they can then summarize it into a short article with a dated rendering. Once Summers or LincolnDrive post an official update you'll see Philly Mag and Philly.com run with something.

She usually waits until you can at least see the materials being used, if not for the finished product. Still, I'm very curious to see what she thinks of it. It's an...interesting...building.

I love it. I think it's a stunner. I love how the base references the older buildings it sits next to and how it starts to "break up" as it reaches the crown. Very unique building that will look great if the materials are quality. I'm glad the most recent render does not deviate from the earlier design and hope this is what's actually built.

I seriously doubt that is the issue. She has run articles criticizing vague proposals that are nowhere near final approval or construction many times. If she hasnt written anything about it she probably can't find much to fault.

That's true- she ripped that "conceptual only" design for the building proposed behind the Rodin... and that thing is nowhere near where this is. But enough on that .... I don't mind Inga..

What's more important, is seeing that entire lot ripped up asap.

Hopefully, we can find an insider like we have on some of the other projects to keep us updated.

Pic I took from today. Asked a suit on site who said they were relocating utilities and then bracing the foundation of the building next door and then excavation will be commencing. The parking lot will not be reopening

Phillymag has a brief write-up but doesn't have anything we didn't already know. The author seems as surprised as we were they began prelim. work without a formal press release or groundbreaking ceremony.
