i was reading an article about this building and maybe someone can let me know why 'triple-glazed' glass is so unique. supposedly it's the first of its kind in canada.

"But it is the innovative curtain wall that will set a new standard in Vancouver.

The low-emissivity, triple-glazed windows have a graduated ceramic coating on the windows that decreases solar gain by 83 per cent, according to architect Peter Hildebrand, partner with Iredale Group Architecture"

I met a guy who told me that his brand new triple glazed windows cooked his neighbours siding when the sun reflected off them. And he was forced to install double glazed on one side of his house.

I have no idea if he was bullshitting me but I found this interesting.

The new windows installed on One Wall Center are triple-glazed. Nothing special about being triple, as far as I know.

Except that the insulating qualities versus double-glazing are supposedly pretty impressive.

Triple glazing isn't exactly new for Canada, so I'm a bit perplexed at the claim that this is somehow new.

On the diagrams page this bldg. is exactly 130 meters, just taller than TD Tower and just shorter than Telus, but at top of this page it is listed at 115.7 meters. Hmmmm, something wrong here.

I went to a diagram page, the SSP city profile, and there was no height listed under it (?) Nearly all other buildings had an official height listed.
I noticed, however, than in the diagram, it's just a notch taller than the TD. As such, I hope of course that 130m is the correct height

It's not going to be. As stated in the title of the thread, the height of the tower is 115 metres, not 130 metres. That's the city hall-imposed viewcone limit and that's the height of the tower.

Why trofiren keeps making this ignorant suggestion is a question only he can answer.
