Thank you for posting. No disrespect to Uzbekistan but it is getting pretty pathetic when Uzbekistan has better passenger rail than the United States.
Im not sure. USA is a very big and very developed country. Uzbekistan has a 30 millions people only. Maybe, it is more easy to build hi-speed railways in middle country than big country as a U.S
^ yes and also lets not forget history. the usa had plenty of passenger rail and then got rid of most of it in favor of automobiles. its asking a lot to rebuild a national rail service in the usa given our extensive highway/road system when the demand is so minimal, thus amtrak remains an inconvenient, skeletal service for much of the country. but lets get back to urban tashkent and hopefully more of uzbekistan...!
