it's only a boom if things are actually happening. state farm's 19 story building is the only thing going on. it's more like billions of dollars worth of proposals.

No, it's just a bad list. There are a lot of recent and active projects that were mentioned in passing throughout the article, and even some that weren't (like the hotel and retail replacing a surface lot on Ashford Dunwoody). Perimeter is changing fast.

I had heard from a City of Sandy Springs official that the application to rezone for #4 above had been withdrawn. Does anyone know details?

If you click Eviva Peachtree on their new site it says it is under construction. It obviously isn't at the moment, but maybe a good sign that it will be soon?

From what I've heard the construction bids for Eviva were way higher than expected (on the order of $20 million higher), so they were searching for ways to both get the costs down and secure a greater amount of financing.

Eviva Peachtree

I recently had a talk with the guy who’s over the Eviva Peachtree development. He said they’ll make an official announcement within a few weeks announcing the start of construction. He also said I’m 22 months away from being able to live there. But they don’t have a major retailer to anchor the large space that’s supposedly big enough to house a grocery store. So it's definitely going to get built.

I'll believe it when I see it. They don't have the permits in yet and have had huge cost hurdles. IF it happens, what we get is most likely going to be much different from what we've seen.

Not entirely true. They filed permits, that are still being processed:

LD-201400037 was filed on 04/01/2014 (Land Dev permit)
and
BB-201406207 was filed on 11/06/2014 (New Multifamily permit)

Neither are closed last I heard. The land permit required revisions which haven't been resubmitted and the November permit is still open. Lots to do before they announce anything.

Well the guy I talked to is over that development so I'll take his word for it.

Mercedes-Benz to build 12-acre campus in Sandy Springs.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle is reporting that Mercedes-Benz USA will announce Tuesday that it will build a nearly 12-acre headquarters campus at Georgia 400 and Abernathy Road in Sandy Springs on a site known best for its historic Glenridge Hall mansion. The land is divided into two tracts: One is north of Abernathy and covers 47 acres. The other is almost 29 acres and sits on the south side of Abernathy between Glenridge Drive and Barfield Road.Mercedes will develop its headquarters on the south tract.

Will post additional deets as the become available.

Atlanta provides open access to permits via:

https://aca.accela.com/Atlanta_ga/default.aspx

Can search by all kinds of criteria. You don't get to see any building plans though

454 Bishop is moving forward with permits, means they must have got the industrial plot rezoned. 17th and Northside area is really changing fast.

I have mixed feelings about that one. It beats an empty lot, but Fuqua...

It beats an empty lot, for now, but in 10, hell even 5 years, will that insular development feel under utilized? Probably and it'll be decades before it would be changed. The Whole Foods complex he did with Sembler was obviously "better than nothing", but that lot on a whole breaks up the urban fabric of that area and is heavily underutilized. Having more stringent zoning / code should eliminate these sort of developments.

That isn't the fuqua development. Actually its 464 Bishop got the address wrong.

It is this property: http://www.loopnet.com/Listing/17321681/464-Bishop-Street-Atlanta-GA/
