Looks like they are starting to layout table forms that would be at grade.

That's Skydeck. This tower will not use table forms.

^^ Thank you. I guess Skydeck is the individual panels put onto of the post system.

IIRC you implied in the past that this will be similar to EAP (concrete core with steel floors) is that correct?

Some concrete was poured yesterday. I watched the Brookfield banners go up today.

Peri unitized formwork system. You can make table forms with it, or frame it in place, which is what is being done at Brookfield. Parkades are often formed using skydeck.

Brookfield will employ a structural steel column and open web joist system above grade and concrete service core, similar to EAP. Floors will be Q-deck sheets and concrete topping. No need for table forms.

No guessing whose project this is!
Big enough to see from Airdrie when the core tops out?
or Chestermere?
or Cochrane?
even Okotoks, perhaps?

At best probably the northernmost part of Stoney Trail. Possibly the airport too, Airdrie is too far, the CN Tower (Sky Pod) is more than twice as tall as Brookfield Place will be, and on a normal day you can see up to Highway 407 (~21 Km) much less than how far BP is from Airdrie (~28 Km).

On a normal day you can see the downtown core buildings from just north of Airdrie (there is a rest stop on highway 2 south where you can see them).

Wow love how a guy from Toronto answers this question. Ever been to Calgary?

Downtown Calgary is in a valley and Calgary in general is surrounded by higher elevations. So it can be seen from very great distances. One of the best views I've seen of DT Calgary is from a mountain top in Kananaskis, measuring using google earth it is 75km from DT Calgary.

P.S. Can't see DT Calgary from Okotoks as it is in a valley as well.

Might need to adjust for differences in smog levels.

If you climb to Ha Ling peak in Canmore you can see Calgary's Downtown.

I honestly don't think you can. Pigeon Mountain and Skogan Peak block the view. You can see Calgary from Prairie Mountain out in Bragg Creek.

I'm sure I can see the Bow & Suncor from west of Cochrane on 1A about 6 kms... it faces right up the Bow River valley to downtown perfectly. Can definitely see downtown from south of Cochrane on Hwy 22 before TCH.

You can certainly see it from the top of several peaks in the front ranges of the Rockies - I've seen downtown from the top of Mount Bogart (near Nakiska) and Grotto Mountain (near Canmore).

Google Earth shows me there is a line of sight from the top of Ha Ling. So maybe on a clear day you could see it. I've seen it from Prairie View which isn't a huge distance closer.

I've always loved the extreme distant views of the skyline that you can get from all kinds of front range peaks (even fairly far south into the Kananaskis), as well as from many hills to our south and southwest. The topography and clear air makes for a pretty unique perspective. Even without smog, the usually humid air in the east (and generally flat landscape) really limit long-distance views.

I'm sure we'll be able to see it well outside of city borders.
