^There's a great book out there (Can't remember the title) written years ago that exposed the relationship between the City and construction firms/ organised crime. I've been trying to get my hands on it for years but it's eluded me. Perhaps someone here will know the title.

Really like the urban density on James between King and Main with the old Robinson's, Royal Bank Building, etc.

Wow! Fantastic picture!

Love the density along King William/Wilson along the current day sea of asphalt.

Also love the old theatres that back onto King Willima, the old courthouse on Main and John, and the old terminal building.

The first floor tenant of Leon's Furs, STORE, removed the sign across the front of the storefront but they use the same font and the yellow/red colour scheme in their branding so I'm sure they see the value of the hanging sign.

Like the Pagoda Chop-Suey House sign, the Leon Furs sign would have to be repaired or restored while it's hanging. If taken down for repair it wouldn't be allowed back up because it would have to conform to current sign by-laws.

If I recall correctly, there was a pretty bad fire at some point in it's lifetime that necessitated removing the roof line from the building. I believe it spent the rest of it's life after that mostly abandoned.
