I can make out the crane in the distance when coming south on RR on the reading side. Its a bit tough to see due to the angles and buildings blocking the view, but its there. This building is going to be very visible from so many areas because it will virtually stand alone.

I agree - this will be an interesting addition. Recently, I have been noticing a place or two along Washington Avenue that Evo barely becomes visible. This tower will have a presence. I think it will be interesting once the CHOP towers get going too, to see the skyline start to wrap around to the South along the river.

This plus CHOP tower and dranoff condos will totally change the look of this area, especially as you drive on 76 or walk on the boardwalk. A no man's land will start to fill up.

Perhaps they can borrow a tiny bit of that focus and determination and replace the plywood "windows" that still adorn the Evo many months after completion.

Actually, I don't see any in the south facade visible in that photo (CORRECTION: I may see one in the center of the very top). Are there any left in the other facades? If so, I can't imagine they'd be there much longer once the weather gets better (one would HOPE).

There were more on the north facade last time I passed. I was also thinking that they are waiting for warmer weather to deal with this and finish up the roof deck.

I'd say by the end of February, if not sooner (weather permitting). Note this statement from the web site of the company that makes the self-rising concrete form system like the one being used here:

So I would predict that the core continues to rise by a couple of floors or so a week, if not more.

A skyline theory question. I wonder if it will feel like looking at a supertall 1000 footer. From the depth's of Penn Park, rather than its actual 730 feet, maybe 20 feet..so 750 footer. With its tapering shape and unobstructed view of its total tower form. I wonder if we'll see the illusion of a supertall... a "virtual" supertall if you will ...when FMC is done?

I think this was answered before, but I forget what the answer is. Is the height for this building measured from ground level or street level? I thought it was ground level but not positive.
