I was wondering if this would happen. I wonder where it will be located? Maybe on one of the cranes looking down!?

Ya, she'll be a beauty alright.
Yeah it was something completely ridiculous. I think the official timeline was 2 years. Anybody with a hint of common sense could realize it was not going to happen. May of 2010 they officially broke ground. Actual excavation, with no design in place, started later in the summer. Completion was scheduled for training camp 2012. Maybe it was closer to 18 or 20 months. But still highly optimistic on that one. It was well into summer 2013 before it was actually complete. Events were held in the incomplete stadium as early as May 2013.

The new stadium is supposed to have 9 elevators but I haven't seen anything being formed for what could be an elevator shaft yet. (based on my limited view looking at the webcam).

I see that they are on the second level. I assume that there will be a third level, will there be a fourth?

Looking at the renders it looks like 3.5 levels above ground plus the roof on the sidelines. I expect the top .5 is not an actual level. There is at least one level below ground so minimum 4 levels on the sides.

Edit. I count 5 levels including field level on the inside.

This is a great shot of what the armoury will look like from New Mosaic. The white officer's mess building on the right has been demoed.

It would be nice if they did some major landscaping changes to spruce up the area between the new stadium and the Armouries Building.

I think I can see a pit in that picture, for one of the 9 elevators possibly?

Nope, that's the Rider's new ball deflation facility.

Could be - I had a look out in that corner last weekend and I think the location of the elevators isn't obvious because they aren't making formed walls around the elevator boxes like typical office building elevators - just leaving empty holes where the elevators will pass through each floor. But just a theory, its hard to tell what the heck is going on out there. Some serious Project Management capabilities required on that project.

That's a great shot of the armoury. Every time I see that building I think how great the area would be if the new stadium had some red brick elements. Not criticizing the stadium design - I like it. I'm just reminded how good red brick looks.

Absolutely. Fantastic looking heritage building. I lived in Regina the first 23 years of my life and I'm not sure if I even knew it was there much less appreciate it. It will definitely receive more attention now with a new stadium on the way.
