The tower crane looked fully assembled. I had a good view of it from my building over on Market. I really need to get access to the roof and bring in the real camera. :^)

I don't, but I agree it need to be updated. SLS and W will also both be taller than One and Two Commerce Square, so they need to be bumped ahead of them.

Very quick item that is tangentially related but slightly off topic from the thread:

The World's Tallest Building title holders diagram page leaves out Philadelphia City Hall. I'm guessing because it's a masonry structure, but that's silly if you ask me. Milwaukee City Hall should probably also be included in their list.

And you wonder why Philadelphia has a perpetual chip on its shoulder.

I sent an email to the site admin asking for an update. Maybe if several of us complain, they'll fix it. These seemed like the right place to make my plea. Okay, back on topic now.

I've never done one, but I started one in December and got about 3/4 of the way done before getting sidetracked over the holidays. (Just have to do the FMC sign, the western sliver of the base that shows beneath the curtain wall, and need to finish the glass detailing.) Will try to complete and submit by this week or next

They've actually finished--or are still finishing--the ones on the Chestnut Street side (looked liked some kind of a plaster or stucco when I drove by fairly recently). I assume they'll finish the ones visible in summers' photo along with the exposed facades of the garage and the FMC tower at that level when all of the construction is completed, if not before.

There is a small retail space available in Evo at the corner of 30th and Chestnut, and I believe there will be a small retail space in FMC as well.

I agree that the columns definitely feel unfinished on Evo, and they wrap all the way around the base so they are visible from both Chestnut and 30th Street.

It looks different now than it did in those photos. As I said in my previous post, when I drove by there recently (within the past few weeks), they were applying--or had just completed applying--some sort of plaster, stucco, or other finish to the concrete (I was driving by so I couldn't take a really good look).

It's pretty obvious that they never intended to just leave that unfinished, rough concrete exposed. When plain concrete IS left exposed in a building like that, it's usually formed or treated to have a more consistent or refined finish.

Kinda ashamed a big investment on the building and someone forget this minor detail.
I would like to see it be wrapped with some sort of metallic sheathing (e.g., stainless steel look).

What color? Is it white?

I believe it was an off-white (e.g., grayish or cream), although I don't remember exactly. I just know that they were finishing the concrete, and when I drove by I recalled the discussion we had here a while ago as to whether we thought they'd eventually do that. As I said, I've never seen rough, inconsistently shaded concrete like that left exposed without SOME sort of finish on a building of that type. From an aesthetic perspective, it would be the equivalent of leaving exposed building-grade plywood, or raw wood framing, or unpainted drywall and joint compound.

Maybe one of our nearby members can go by and snap a photo of the finish I saw.

As I posted above, it has been, or is being, finished (although I believe with some sort of plaster or stucco, and not metallic sheathing).
