I am strongly considering moving to the Center City area from Denver for grad school. I would greatly appreciate it if one of you enthusiasts (especially if any have lived in the Intermountain region) could PM me as I have questions about specific things in the city since I only had a transient stressful 1 day experience there. I really liked the vibe I was getting, but its hard to tell from one day. Thanks!
Did someone send you a PM? I'd be happy to help if I could, but I'm 10 years removed from grad school myself and a suburbanite now - probably not qualified.

What’s amazing about that shot is that you are really only seeing Center City West in the distance. You still have the whole Market East and Old City built environment behind it. Once the eastern side of U City gets fully developed, going from Front Street to 40th Street is going to 40 blocks of almost continuous mid and high-rise development.

Another money shot of the new skyline will be from Belmont Plateau.

Nope, we were two of the only under-30 nonstudents to spend 4 years in Cambridge, ha. It was just for work.

Can someone ( with the talent ) please post to scale where the SLS fits
into this shot of South Broad and how it may help to expand the skyline
south .

I haven't seen any renders from that angle. Here's something more from above. SLS render at bottom center:

I walked by the site a few days ago and meant to post something about its height. I really like this design and do wish it was taller. But it's high ceilings make this more equivalent to a five story building. It's probably at least 50 feet high. A small consolation prize

Comcast just keeps growing

...gobbles up more space

http://www.bizjournals.com/philadelphia/...ast-to-occupy-entire-new-skyscraper.html

I love the part where it says " if the merger with TW goes through it will only add a couple hundred additional jobs"

The day "a couple hundred" new jobs in CC is relegated to small print is the day Phila is officially unrecognizable to those born here. We're a long way away.

And if the final phase of the Cira Center complex comes to fruition (which is rumored to be 900-1000 ft) it will blow the minds of skyscraper geeks everywhere!

Tech Company to add 80 new jobs in CC

Speaking of more jobs coming into CC. This is a couple of weeks old but didn't see it here.

Adminovate, Inc. in Philadelphia to Expand and Create 81 Jobs

Do you mean the 4th tower (closest to the Cira Centre in your picture)? I'm pretty sure that was dead and buried several years ago - but that it wasn't planned to be anywhere near that height anyway.

Yeah. I recall rumors recently on this forum that it may one day see the light of day and that it could reach that height. If it truly isn't dead it would be amazing. Wishful thinking perhaps.

Nice catch VZ. Hopefully they jump on the 8th street light panel soon, that thing feels lonely right now.

Anyone hear of rumors that SEPTA might be doing any sort of lighting scheme on the exterior of 1234? The MTA plays nicely with Times Square in terms of exterior station lighting/signage and I recall SEPTA selling a huge building wrap to dunking donuts before getting their hands slapped by SCRUB.
