I decided not to include ATL because it is a limited service during Christmas/New Year's. Last flight on that route is 2015-Jan-4.

I thought it will be only once a week after that....that's too bad! Wonder why they did that?

I read that it was done to feed cruises out of Florida. Apparently Delta is notorious for launching such limited services, as it helps them optimize fleet usage.

WestJet Encore

WestJet Encore is adding new destinations to its network and that includes YOW. Starting July 15, YOW-YHZ will be seasonal with twice daily flights using the Dash8 Q400 equipment with 78 passengers capacity. Also, starting July 15, YOW-YQM with one daily flight using the same Dash8 Q400 plane. This route will also be seasonal for now! YQM-YOW, total price one way from $154.95 and the return YOW-YQM total price one way from $158.34
Not sure on the YOW-YHZ price for now.
I personally welcome Encore to YOW, it will bring more competition and perhaps lower the prices that Air Canada is currently charging. Has anyone heard of any other new routes coming to YOW this year or perhaps next?

Came here to post exactly what you just did VaskoYOW. So I'll just add a bit more too it (because I am an airline enthusiast).

The 2nd daily flight to Halifax (YHZ) begins July 15th. It will be operated by Westjet Encore (same aircraft that Porter uses). The other flight will still use their Boeing 737 aircraft.

YOW 08:45 - YHZ 11:47 (Encore)
YOW 16:55 - YHZ 19:28 (Mainline)

YHZ 12:45 - YOW 14:02 (Encore)
YHZ 18:30 - YOW 19:14 (Mainline)

Further Westjet will now compete with Porter and AC on the Ottawa - Moncton route. This is also Encore and begins July 15th as well.

YOW 14:35 - YQM 17:26 (Encore)
YQM 18:00 - YOW 19:07 (Encore)

Can YOW-YQM even support three airlines? I think one of them will leave soon after, doesn't seem like a strong market for three airlines.

I was thinking the same thing as there will be roughly 200 seats/day per direction. But then I got thinking more... If you are flying Porter from Moncton you are either coming to Ottawa or connection here to Toronto (and beyond). Porter does not offer Toronto-Moncton direct. On AC the flight is timed for mid afternoon rush flights from Ottawa to USA and western Canada. Westjet has Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto bound flights leave Ottawa at 20:00 so this is perfectly times for a connection from Moncton. I guess we'll see if the Westjet continues through next winter. The breakeven cost is a lot lower on the Q400s as oppose to AC's CRJ-200s

Further...I've noticed Air Canada is in fact resuming Frankfurt flights. In April 3x weekly continuing to daily beginning late June. Aircraft is currently listed as the B767 (same as we had last year). As of now the London flight also remains B767 for the summer as well.

My only doubt would have been if Air Canada decided to either:
a) move the route to AC Rouge, or
b) move more 767s to Rouge and not continue this service due to an insufficient plane to fly the routing. Leaving YOW pax to transfer at YYZ or YUL.

I actually have a few colleagues who have used YOW as a connection coming from the USA on United Airlines. Routing was ORD-YOW-FRA and DCA-YOW-FRA

Would love to see Encore do a YOW-YKF run to link up to the YHZ or YQM flight, but I guess it's not very likely.

Are these the first Encore flights announced for YOW?

I wonder if they'll introduce any US routes from YOW? One thing YOW has over YTZ is pre-clearance.

Westjet previously announced that one of the 6-8 daily flights to Toronto YYZ would be Encore (the 13:30 departure from YOW). Begins March 15th.

Sniff.... I liked that one... can't find any news reference to it, but dummy bookings next fall all say "flight sold out"...

Yes it is sadly ending in June. I also enjoyed that route and heard from Family and colleagues who used it found connecting through Charlotte a lot easier than through Philly. But having both Charlotte and Philly so close together and are both hubs for US/American (merging) there is little point having both routes open and over-flying one another. Especially when flight departure times were almost identical. If they were more staggered the route could still be here. Loads were fairly good I heard, but it could have been affecting their Philly route. Hopefully we will see Philly go back to 3x/day. Currently it's down to 2x some days.

I wouldn't hold my breath for AA(US) to add much frequency. I suspect we'll keep PHL and that will be it.

Perhaps seasonal MIA from them as well. But that's been rumoured for years.
