Well, the project at 5th is on Peachtree and that has a crane going...I have a photo of it that I need to post-process, but it really isn't much at the moment

Hopefully 811 Peachtree which will be the best of these projects gets going soon. Midtown really is changing, but I'd love to see some projects in the Sweet Auburn area where the streetcar is...that area has so much potential to be a dense, walkable neighborhood with apartments and restaurants and even a nightlife district on Edgewood.

And also, it looks like a (smaller) second crane is going up at the 33 Peachtree Place property! I'll take a picture later when more is done.

Atlanta's infill is impressive, but I'm eager to see taller towers get underway.

Agreed on Sweet Auburn. I'm surprised that there hasn't been more development there. Maybe now that the streetcar is running it will pick up, but it's kind of been a disappointment so far.

On the other hand, Midtown's current transformation is incredible.

That is the crane for drilling the caissons for phase II of the project. Notice that they are drilling on the weekend when the parking lot is empty. It will be back in the mud on Monday.

My understanding is that the church will use funds from the sale to restore the (beautiful) historic sanctuary--

They are only demoing the Montessori school that was in the back building of the church. The school moved a couple blocks away. The church itself will remain.

Awesome!

Whatever happened to 50 Allen Plaza and Centennial Hill Tower 2? I always imagine how amazing those two buildings would look right now driving down the connector.

The Recession/change of ownership pretty much shelved those plans. Those don't even bleep on the radar of proposals anymore.

Post files permit for Midtown Project.

According to local blog, What Now Atlanta, a building permit application was filed with City of Atlanta Monday by Post Properties and The Preston Partnership to develop Post Millennium, a 23-story residential building at the northwest corner of 11th Street and Peachtree Walk. The 356 unit high rise will boast a rooftop pool and “skylounge” and an eighth floor landscaped amenity terrace and club room.

Does anyone know what is going on with the Proton Therapy Center? The main building is nearing completion while the Peachtree St frontage hasn't even started.
