The building is coming along nicely. The complete restoration of the first floor exterior will only happen after 7 Eleven vacates. I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to find out the end date of the lease. Apparently a prominent downtown retailer approached the URA with a serious offer to purchase both the Roberts and Skinny buildings but the URA decided---at least for now---not to sell.
My understanding is that, at some point in the future, when the convenience store has left the building, the first floor exterior will be fully restored.
Allegheny County Airport Authority officials approved a development agreement Friday for a company to build warehouse space on airport land. . . . Randy Forister, the airport's senior director of development, said Neyer plans to build a structure with at least 200,000 feet of warehouse space. The developer has the option to build a second building, he said.
Probably among the least sexy kinds of development, but this actually makes sense for the airport area (rather than doing convention centers and stuff like that).
* Pribanic and Pribanic law offices - 513 Court Place - Downtown. New Facade and 1st floor interior renovation.Nice Update. The new material is beautiful. It is a preferated patinated copper.
* Liberty Center -Eleventh Ave / Penn Ave / Liberty Ave, 1001 Liberty Avenue. Same project, re-do entrance. new interior render.
Words cannot express how much I detest that Pribanic proposal.
I can't say I like it, but the existing storefront is circa 1920s and nothing special, and it looks like the "modern" facade will leave it intact if any future tenants wish to tear it down.

OK, I could hate it worse.
I still hate it. I think it is incredibly ugly, ridiculous in scale, and totally unnecessary since that is a perfectly nice facade which could be restored with appropriate signage and a first floor redo and look very handsome and professional.
Austinlee, could you tell what was going on with the furst floor of the large infill building? Is that glass area retail or a large lobby? I like the density of the building but it could do so much more to activate the street.
Point Park University sets stage for new Pittsburgh Playhouse
Point Park University will convene a community meeting Jan. 21 to take public comment on its design to build a $74 million complex to house the historic Pittsburgh Playhouse.
The meeting marks the beginning of the public approval process for the long-awaited facility that will consolidate Point Park's theater program, currently housed into the old Pittsburgh Playhouse in Oakland, at the private university's Downtown campus.
University officials said they'll meet with city planning officials Jan. 27 to discuss their plans and head to a formal city planning hearing Feb. 10.
The new facility, to be located on a 1.6-acre site between Wood and Smithfield streets, will incorporate the facades from historic buildings at 320, 322 and 330 Forbes Ave. into the two-story outdoor courtyard, said Point Park President Paul Hennigan.
It will integrate the former Colonial Trust Co. building designed by Frederick J. Osterling that now serves as the University Center and the former 1903 Pittsburgh Stock Exchange on Fourth Avenue into the complex.
Hennigan said Point Park, which has restored 10 historic buildings as part of its urban campus, wanted to do as much as possible to incorporate the spirit of the historic structures in the new facility, officials hope to open in the fall of 2017.
“We want it to look like it has been there for a while. The Pittsburgh Playhouse started as a community organization in the 1930s. We're honoring that legacy,” he said.
