Not quite Canada but close enough. The local evening news covered reaction to the Charlie Hedbo terrorist attack in St-Pierre, a French town just off our south coast.

It was heartbreaking. They all carried "Je suis Charlie" signs or pens. The whole town was out in the main Square Joffre and along Rue de la Ronciere.

Great pic. You should take one with the preserved heritage entrance on the left there fully visible. I'm curious to see how it looks in context now that's basically done.

Gorgeous shots, Mono!

This morning I took a little detour on my commute to head out to the Battery and enjoy the sunrise. When I was living on the mainland, I used to despise the Battery. I always found it so embarrassing that it was all the mainland seemed to show to depict St. John's. Now that I'm back, I love it. It's everything I love about St. John's on steroids. Homerism or not, I'd be hard-pressed not to include it somewhere on a list of Canada's coolest residential neighbourhoods.

J. and I got our snowshoes and broken them in on a little river trail in the city, just to make sure we don't kill ourselves out on the trails. It's AWESOME. I love it. Bit useless here, but it's fun.
