That green tower crane is made of leftover parts... Looks like something out of a junkyard.

Is it just me or does the pit/hole look deeper than normal?

Nope - typical for that area - downtown within the street grid, you'd have even deeper excavations.

A third tower crane is being installed today, and the small stretch of free street parking on Pacific just past Nelson is reserved for construction work until next October.

Also adjacent to the site towards BC Place, Terry Fox Way and the outdoor concourse are shutdown for the casino construction with fences up and jackhammering of concrete underway.

I would hope these areas will be open for week of the Grey Cup...

I had thought of that too -- Grey Cup logos are installed on the stairwell windows now -- but it does not look like that will be the case and the developer is on their own schedule.

They are making fast progress with this one. They are already few parking floors up on one corner of the pit and there are a lot of constructions workers on site. It's a very busy and progressive atmosphere at the site.

They are pulling up a new temporary staircase in right now. Anyone got updated pictures of the area? Looking pretty interesting.

I saw that on Sunday - right next to Expo Boulevard to replace the staircase than runs through the middle of the casino site,
looks nice and wide to handle crowds - just not sure where they'd walk down below.

That's a really nice shot! I can't believe how fast they are working away on the Casino site. I think they are suppose to be done around the same time as One Pacific.

Thanks folks! So far the project is going full steam ahead...

For those who like to watch concrete being poured under a bit of moonlight I highly recommend this video:

For those who can't handle that kind of excitement here are a few more night shots:

Thanks for the update.

Since this project and the casino were not permitted to build taller, more slender towers (but were forced to build short and fat towers), there will actually be zero view of BC Place as you begin the descent off of the north end of Cambie Street Bridge and pass the stadium. And when I say zero, I mean zero, except possibly the very tips of some of the masts. Any views of the LED windows will be gone forever. You won't even know the stadium exists.

So, there will not be even a sliver of this view anymore:

I'm not so sure of that. I'll believe it when everything is fully built out.

The best views of BC Place are from across False Creek anyway.
