I'm not too sure, and I don't think I want to know My guess would be that in a less desirable area, for an un-renovated older wood home like that you would be looking at $800k-$900k, a more desirable area upward of $1.5m-$2m, especially if there has been a lot of work done.

I never noticed before how the domes of Dolly Parton Tower seem to echo the "dome" of the old Clock Tower.

I used to live not far from the lower left of that photo.

I've not encountered the term mainland Halifax before - does that mean DT? Or Dartmouth? Or?

DT is out of frame on the upper left landmass, just to confirm, right?

"Mainland Halifax" is meant to distinguish the stuff on the Halifax side that is off the peninsula. This covers areas like Clayton Park and Spryfield. Joseph Howe Drive is normally considered the cutoff. Bedford is also considered separate, although I have a feeling nobody knows what the official boundary is between Bedford and Clayton Park or whatever the in-between areas are considered. Halifax is not very good for neighbourhood names, with a couple of exceptions.

Yes, downtown would be to the left, although the older part of the North End (or "Central Halifax", depending on who you ask) is just out of the frame.

This one shows the southern part (the 3 blue/white highrise buildings are a good landmark):

A few others from that set:

Wow.
If I ever run out of work out East I might consider getting an unrenovated one (ideally in a desirable area) and bring it to higher standards to resell.

(Though with my luck the currently lasting Van bubble might burst just while I own the place...)

Those ariel shots of Halifax are really nice. Would love to go there someday. Also really enjoyed the Montreal Pics.

This is a compliment ... but Montreal really is North America's big winter city.
