C'est plus un ''parc'' qui va servir de lien entre les 2 quartiers, Griffintown et Cité du Multimédia. L'accès par voiture sera amélioré énomément. Il y aura aussi des parcs à chiens, lol

Since when do large windswept spaces 'connect' two neighbourhoods?

Besides, so long as the CN viaduct is present, Multimedia and Griffintown will remain Balkanized from each other.

I'll take it. And I would add that Viger Square's flaws go far beyond being between busy arteries.

Traffic gridlock + unused space. If anything, it is making problems worse.

Nice video. I got married in Ste. Agathe.

Over the years, the traffic back to the city after a weekend started to pile up at St-Jerome, but now it's creeping further and further north (I've been stopped in traffic near St. Sauveur a few times!)

The result of a fast growing region versus an existant Autoroute... and it's not going to get better. They will have to do something.

And yes pretty nice video. Any idea how he's doing the road signs in the montage ?

Preliminary work is moving forward on the GTA West Corridor. Public consultation on the route selection process was held earlier in December. The documents can be found below:

The new bridge looks awesome!

Also you guys in Montreal are lucky that you don't have the extreme environmentalists protesting every single highway project.

If in Vancouver I am sure one or two fringe mayors / councilors would propose tearing it down and not replacing it....

You could be surprised. It's not always as easy as you think here (I mean Quebec wide)
Oh well, maybe if I see how it's going on in BC I'll come to say that we're just fine

Nice looking project. I have to say though, I was slightly annoyed by both those videos. How hard would it have been to do a fly thru of the project from one end to the other? Fly thru in one direction then the other. Everytime it was getting to something I wanted to see it would cut away and show something else.

It wasn't made for that.
The main goal was to show both approaches and how it will modify everything around. It's focusing on what will change on the daily life's residents.
There is another video that was mostly concentrated on the birdge itself back in the months.

I think it's funny how these concept videos always show such low vehicle counts and transport truck counts yet high pedestrian counts.

So what portion of this project is being funded locally, provincially and federally?

Well it probably ends up making the project look better as a whole, if they dont show stalled semis, bumper to bumper traffic, empty bike lanes, unused pedestrian overpasses etc. Even if that is closer to reality.

Exactly. I know its just a marketing ploy to garner public support.
