That was funny.

F**k moving it out to DIA, anything that would give the Gaylord Hotel more traffic is something that needs to be discouraged.

"The City's behind it, CSU is behind it, the Stock Show is behind it." Don't you mean they are the beneficiaries?
Didn't $600 million basically cover both the cost of the convention center expansion and the hotel? But look at the return those two have generated.
Okay, there's this from
the article:
Quote:
* Moving the existing Denver and Rock Island Railroad tracks away from the South Platte River onto the existing National Western Drive.
* Shifting the National Western Drive onto the existing railroad tracks and opening up about 1 mile of the river bank to be used as new park space.

This looks like something that Denver would need to be responsible for funding/doing. Maybe they can find some federal funding/grant to help with that part.
For the "National Western Stock Show" redo they might get the regional voters to buy into funding this part of the master plan.
Then there's this:

The existing hall of education and the events center would be replaced by a new trade show and exhibit hall, a new arena and a new CSU center and a "Colorado Commons" outside of the existing old, Stadium Arena, under the plan.

I doubt the regional voters would choose to support this. Maybe Denver can do a P3 for at least part of this. Perhaps the State would help with a (CSU) part.
There is, I believe, to be one more round of funding for the State tourism-related TIF funding which could be an assist.
It would be wonderful to reclaim land along the Platte for more park area, etc. Should they be successful it's certainly worth an attaboy from me.
