we need more architectural pieces like this in our city (with a higher height limit!)

Yup! They ARE the architectural firm who designed it!! (maybe pay a retainer fee to keep them at our disposal.)

I think they're working on Oxford's next project at 1155 Melville.

Here is a sunroof pic I took the same day as the Santa Claus parade.

Well over a year now. Perhaps they will be turned back on when the MNP Tower is complete?

Am waiting to see how long--if ever--the lights on the Hotel Vancouver roof will be back on. It has been over a year for that building, too. This year they didn't even light it up for Christmas.

I thought it was SOM, I might be wrong though.

My engineer friend said that SOM's design for 1155 was an efficient box.
KPF's design for 1155 apparently has a butterfly floorplate.

Butterfly floorplate? Hmm sounds interesting. Perhaps similar to 1075 W Georgia, which has the middle core (thorax) with two pieces north or south (wings).

Well. I'm interested.

Edit - checked my post from July 2014 in the rumours thread - it's 2 intersecting parallograms, but for some reason, butterfly comes to mind.
