Far more effective "sail" than at The Melville.
PS - the lighting feature was an upside-down "V" along the edges of the "sail".

I wonder if the lighting feature on the Melville will ever be turned back on.

this building is one of the more elegant and beautiful buildings around. only wish was for it to be a little taller than it's current height.

i get the sense that because of the building's simplicity, that it will age well (not like some other buildings we've got).

I could create a big long list of lights like this that have been turned off or fallen into disrepair. It's really a shame.

Fantastic photo! The sulphur mound lined up with the roof pyramid of the Marine building is a nice touch.

This photo reminds me that the Bell sign on Bentall 5 is gone (at least the one on the east side). It now says "B5."

Im so glad you pointed that out! I didn't know if I was crazy, or if the B5 was new! It caught me off guard the other day.

There are men working on the western sign right now.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who notices these small changes. Too bad they couldn't use the name of another tenant, like Teck. "B5" looks like something you'd see in a parking garage.

B5 also sounds like a Tech firm or something like that. 90% of people probably wont even know it means Bentall 5.

This was a long time coming though, Bell moved their tenancy out to Bentall's Broadway Tech Centre, and part of the deal was Bell keeping their name on the building for x years for a fee. That time has now run out and the name will be removed. Teck has the rights to put their name on the building, but may not for corporate culture reasons.

Having a "Teck" sign up there would be a nice "boost" for the resources sector.

I haven't seen it in person yet - but from a distance, does "B5" look like "BS"?

In fact, it easily could, I reckon. As a remedy, I'd suggest a somewhat stylized "5" or maybe using 2 colors, to keep it from looking like "BS."

Sorry to disappoint, but it reads clearly B5.

They should now add similar signs on the other towers as well.
