$300 bucks is chump change for a cost centre.

It's a huge boon to people in southern Ontario outside Toronto, places like Kingston, Ottawa, Kitchener, London, Windsor, etc. It's now so much easier for them to get to Pearson Airport for travel to points afar. In fact, it arguably benefits Ontarians outside Toronto more than it benefits Torontonians.

In Kingston, there's two coach routes to Toronto, one that goes to downtown Toronto and another that goes to Pearson Airport. I suspect that once the downtown coach terminal is relocated to Union Station, the direct bus to Pearson Airport will cease to exist.
Agreed and for Torontonians it will benefit them when visit cities outside the GTA. I'd love to get to downtown Kitchener or London quickly without driving, would do the trip frequently if this option were available. Also glad we can use the Presto card, finally able to get discounted pricing and convenience when travelling across the Greater Golden Horseshoe!

The Metro Vancouver Mayor's Council on Regional Transportation approved the transit referendum question for next Spring:

One million more people will live and work in Metro Vancouver by 2040. The region;s mayors worked together to develop a plan to reduce congestion on roads and bridges and to provide more transit to communities across the region.

The Mayor’s Transportation and Transit Plan will:

Add more bus service to crowded routes and add new routes in growing areas
Increase service on SkyTrain, Canada Line, SeaBus, and West Coast Express
Add 11 new B-Line rapid bus routes, with fast and frequent service connecting town centres
Maintain and upgrade the region’s major roads
Build a new, earthquake-ready Pattullo Bridge
Building light rail transit connecting Surrey Centre with Guilford, Newton, and Langley
Extend the Millennium Line tunneled along Broadway
Improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists
Revenues raised through this referendum, together with Provincial and Federal contributions, will be dedicated to the Plan Revenues and expenditures will be subject to annual independent audits and public reporting.

“Do you support a one-half percentage point (0.5%) increase to the Provincial Sales Tax in Metro Vancouver, dedicated to the Mayors’ Transportation and Transit Plan, with independent audits and public reporting?”

Source.

Personally, while I support this, I think that it has a very low chance of succeeding.

Anyone know the maximum length of AMT consists in revenue service? It seems AMT normally runs 6 car consists on St. Jerome, Mont St. Hilaire and Hudson, with longer trains on Deux Montanges (up to 10 cars) and shorter on Dorion-Rigaud, but there seems to be exceptions.

max 10 cars. the length of the platform does not allow more than 10 cars.

Do you mean Candiac? Cause Hudson and Dorion-Rigaud are the same thing (DR is the old name). Mascouche uses 6 cars I believe.

Candiac 3-5 cars, I think.
When the density within a car reaches two people per square meter, they add a car.

6 car trains seem oddly short to me.. GO uses 10 or 12 car trains on all lines except the summer Niagara trips, which use 8 car trains.

Wow the new locomotives look so much better than those ancient beasts. The old ones look cool for freight trains but for urban passenger service it just looks archaic.
