So from this angle it'll line up almost perfectly with that glass spine on 360's south facade. That'll fill in a nice gap, but it'll mean 5th & West won't be visible from this spot, and that's unfortunate because this would face that building's angled facade along that view corridor.

What a great effect, to see those rising together. What's truly stunning is to realize that there are at least 4 additional towers that have been, or are likely to be, approved for the area covered by this photo. And 2 of them, IIRC, will be taller than any pictured here.

Also loving the fall foliage in the foreground.

What is the crane on the far right for? It is right to the right of 360.

I'm excited for all of these to be finished and for the roads to be completed and stoplights put in, so that this area can finally become a fully incorporated part of downtown. Right now, 1st Street in that area almost feels like the beginning of a highway.

It is impressive to see it all in one picture, though. What a transformation it will be.

There will be at least five additional towers in the view. I'm guessing 5th & West is the one you weren't thinking of. 5th & West is probably my favorite new tower that has had their groundbreaking.

We have two under construction but topped out:
7Rio*
The Bowie

We have three under construction but far from topped out:
GreenWater Residences (Block 1 - SE)
Seaholm
Central Library (including even though it's not strictly a skyscraper in the way we think of it)

We have these that are planned or are about to start (that we know of):
5th & West
GreenWater Office (Block 23 - NE)
GreenWater NW
GreenWater SW
Energy Control Center 1
Energy Control Center 2
Shoal Creek Walk (if still a skyscraper plan...)
Aspen Tower*

And there are a number of parcels that are currently parking lots or are otherwise really good for redevelopment in this area of downtown.

*both of these two towers might more realistically be placed in their own cluster, rather than as an extension of the West End, provided that more get built in the NW part of downtown. See comment below.

I thought of that one so there's another I'm missing. Here are the ones I'm aware of, and bear in mind that I'm just an enthusiastic observer who gets most of his information from this forum and ABJ:
5th/west
Shoal Crk walk (not much of a tower but still...)
Greenwater Block 23
ummm.... now I'm remembering the Hotel Zaza, and there's going to be some sort of tower involved with the courthouse project.

Originally when I counted 4 I was omitting those last 2 but was including the Block 24 condos. Is it premature to count that one? If Aspen Towers were also visible in that shot then it would be 6 or 7 that aren't seen in the pic. Wow. And then there's the other end of downtown, with its forthcoming 6 or 7+ towers.

See my above post.

I'll definitely add Aspen Tower to that list, but I'd leave off Hotel Zaza as that's in the Warehouse District rather than the true West End.

Frankly, though, if we end up seeing more towers around Aspen and 7Rio, that should then be considered it's own cluster rather than being an extension of the West End.

I was only referring to the five towers that haven't started yet and would be visible in that particular view:

Green Water x3
Block 24
5th & West

Shoal Creek Walk could be a sixth if it's tall enough and 360 doesn't block it.

They're jacking the crane on San Anonio St. this weekend. Crane sections are being delivered right now.

So they have an official name now, according to this:

three-tiered tower called Northshore that is already under construction on the site at West Cesar Chavez and San Antonio streets

I'm wondering if these new buildings will block The Monarch and Bowie from the 35 bridge over the river. I really like that bright-stripe lighting on the Bowie.

Yes and no. Seaholm Residences will probably block half of Spring, while filling in a gap between Spring and The Bowie. "Northshore" as it's being called now, will block part of the Bowie, but because the building has setbacks, it won't block it completely. It will block at least half of the Monarch. The Monarch is the one I hate to see being blocked with its unique lighting. I love how the color is never the same.

Northshore will cause lots of confusion with the future North Shore Lofts. Maybe the latter will have to change names.

Isn't a shore the edge of a large body of water, like and ocean or lake. North Bank would be more appropriate.

Then people would go there and think they could make a deposit.
