The rent at Telus Garden would be high too - but the difference would be that they'd get lunchtime traffic - the question, I suppose, is whether they'd still get the evening traffic.

I think they'd be big enough that they would success- especially since they are somewhat close to the Queen E, and the stadiums.

I wonder how much they paid for the exclusive rights to Telus Gardens Restaurants (Glowbal is putting in 3/4 restaurants IIRC)

I know somebody higher up in the Glowbal group. He said it was all about rent.

I'm sure they are getting some kind of deal for the massive investment they are making in TG.

The Yaletown location wasn't very big either.

Not sure why the Glowbal Group is showing this plan - it's not the Telus Gardens layout

So that's what's happening?!?!

Was at Global for lunch about 2 weeks ago and was shocked by how run-down it was, chairs had tattered and torn upholstery, washrooms were in terrible shape, rear of restaurant, near Afterglow in terrible shape, chipped paint, worn out and filthy runners.

Glad to hear as it was due for a 'gut' regardless.

The yaletown Glowbal location has been showing it's age for some time now in my opinion, I much prefer Black and Blue, which seems to be where there spending all there money these days, well that and Coast.

BTW, two of my favorite places to eat in Vancouver.

I'm told Coast is now by far the highest grossing restaurant in Vancouver.

(sorry just realized this is offtopic).

I was wondering about that -

The spiral staircase suggests the underground space on Georgia, but that has an elevator in the middle of the staircase. On that plan, the columns look oddly placed too.

Incredibly bad pic by me last night - partially lit sign, showing that it lights up white:

Pics by me today:

First rib has been installed - it is steel - could be a support for the wood or required for the glass / doorway installation?

Yeah, they'll probably clad that steel one in wood.

Pics by me today from the Homesense across the street:

The platform is probably for cladding installation(?)

The residential tower is now almost taller than the nearby buildings
