Although Republicans would be in the enviable position of being able to float a tax cut "just for show" if they assume that Hickenlooper would veto it. Assuming Hick would be willing to compromise on 🞵🞵🞵 laws, the question is whether Republicans would even care or if they just want to keep the issue for the next campaign?

Given Hickenlooper's Budget Proposal that bumps up both higher ed and road & transit spending by over a $100 million with more modest increases for eco-devo that sounds like a bi-partisan approach to me.

Who says that the GOP wants to be bipartisan at the state level? A good number of the new State Assembly members aren't exactly moderates and I can see a lot of the looney tune ideas of the fringe, such as seizing all federal lands in Colorado, being introduced in the legislature on a regular basis.

We'll see just how well the GOP leadership can ride herd on the loonies. 🞵🞵🞵🞵 will be a clusterf**, as will state's rights issues. Oh, and let's not forget some good 'ol fashion union busting. Hopefully the fiscal issues don't end up going that way as well (the state doesn't know how to spend money on transportation, let's give a tax cut to the people and let them build the roads through entrepreneurship!)

Best case would be for a divided assembly.

Ha! And for those who admit they are won't, how do you plan on getting to work without utilizing parking. Since we're told we don't need parking.

And I'm sure commuting by car this morning on I-25/36 was a joy.

I would rather ride my 2 miles in the cold and snow than deal with this cluster-

I have never been happier with owning a Subaru. It's my first all wheel drive winter and I am SOOOOOO SOOOO PLEASED! I saw 3 bikers on 16th Ave this morning.

EDIT: For the record it only took me about 3 minutes longer to get to work.

The people who choose to work from home or use public transportation to avoid the snowy/icy auto commute should offset any increase in parking demand due to bike commuters driving in on the extreme weather days. That may not be the case on clear, cold and windy days when biking is still a challenge but driving isn't.

Today's was my shortest drive this week. Federal was a breeze.

Well I'm technologically inept so I can't get the photo to work. There was a poster on the light rail that said "Reason to ride the light rail: great opportunity for a selfie".

Thought it was pathetic.

Biz Journal Update on Eagle
