I don't think the bridge coming from Skydome is possible. That bridge was erected at the same time Highway 11 was converted to a RIRO expressway (somewhere around 1985 or 86) according to an interview I once heard on CBC Radio, while Skydome wasn't even completed until 1989.

I've never had a Weber's burger, but my father always made a point of telling me how "overcooked" and "burnt" their burgers were every time we drove by it on the way to Muskoka. We always went to McDonald's instead.

Ugh, the EDR. In Kingston's case, it would not have helped very much during Homecoming Weekend, as the EDR through Kingston swings north on Highway 38 then east on Unity Road (formerly County Road 3), then south on Perth Road, east on McAdoos Lane, then east on Kingston Mills Road including over a swing bridge and a one-lane bridge that has a weight restriction, then south on Highway 15. You're better off going through Downtown Kingston, which is rather congested close to the LaSalle Causeway.

Just saw this now, but the bridge across Highway 11 to Weber's used to go across Lakeshore Blvd. from Exhibition to Ontario Place. As they were replacing it they were going to scrap it but Weber's got special clearance to build a bridge over a public highway and bought it.

The A440 along the St. Lawrence is alright, but I really love Avenue Royale from Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré back to Québec City. It's great for driving, and it's great for cycling, too.

ahah thanks ! thats a nice song.

Did you tried promenade Samuel de Champlain yet ? It's my favourite place for walking. You're surrounded by full of trees while you're next to the city don't notice it !

They're currently working on phase 3, between Anse au foulon ( West end of the phase 1 ) to the bridges and going to the cliffs of Cap-Rouge. It'll be amazing !

Just curious, ''Rousseau'' is a french name. Are you from the province of Québec ? do you speak french ?

I find avenue Royale a little dangerous with its sharp curves that hidden cyclists. But otherwise, it's an epic place.

Just driven by, never walked there. But we'll be sure to check it out next time we're on Quebec City. Thanks for the tip.

The last 2.8 km of four-lane highway opened to traffic in New Brunswick, Canada. It is located near the Québec border, near Saint-Jacques. This completes the four-lane Trans-Canada Highway through New Brunswick.

I love the Rocket. One of the all time greatest players, the most famous player ever from the Habs, a cultural icon...

But in the end, he was a hockey player. I don't think he merits having what will (continue) to be the busiest or second busiest bridge in all of Canada named after him. I mean, Samuel de Champlain founded New France, fer fux sake.

Highway 407 extension construction in september.

Notice how the bridge piers are built for a 10 lane cross section even though opening day it will be 6 lanes. The 407 has been designed to easily be widened as demand warrants.

Essentially yes. 500 km of limited access divided highway with interchanges. The only fly in the ointment is two level railway crossings in the Moncton area. These are little used spur lines, so I can't imagine anyone paying the money to correct this situation.

Overall, NB has about 800 km of divided highway.

Finally. 23 years since McKenna promised to do it (I think '91 was the year he promised it). With the completion of Autoroute 85 and a possible further twinning of Highway 104/105, we're getting closer to a full freeway TCH from Arnprior to Sydney (Still a while off).

It'll likely be at Renfrew or beyond before it reaches Sydney.

I prefer to think of it as a completely divided highway from Windsor (NS) to Windsor (ON).

That must be near 2500 km.

EDIT - I just measured it out on Google Earth, it's more like 2100 km (maybe 2200-2300 km when you take into consideration meandering of the roadway), but that's still the equivalent of driving from New York City to Oklahoma City, so it's not too shabby. That's the same as two days of hard driving or three days of normal driving.

I've done 2,000km in one day before from Toronto to Tampa (never want to do that again, mind you, its roughly 20 hours of driving). I don't see that being 3 days at all, thats only 800km a day. 2 day drive sounds about right.

Holy crap, that's probably more than BC.
