Render's a beauty. Thanks C-A-D!

Oxford makes CC2 look so stubby.

Needs to be bumped to the next page - that good!

3EC is dead.... Well, the property was sold I believe. If it does get built I'd bet money it won't be anything like the current renderings... I hope! A single 60-story tower is what I'd like to see on that spot.

Awesome work CAD! I wonder what's happening with the EC proposal. Any idea when construction will start?

I've received word from a very reliable source that the developer who proposed the Eau Claire proposal never had any intention of actually redeveloping the market. They only made a fancy flashy design to get public support on their side so that they could develop a tall office tower (tower 1 - 160 meters) there. They have no intention of doing the residential, hotel, market, or plaza portions.

There's been a lot of rumours on here recently with nothing concrete to back them. That doesn't make sense for how much time and money they've spent designing it. i thought the developer was pretty large and well respected too. If that's true though that's beyond 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵.

Might explain the delays. At the public reveal/open house back in December 2013, they were saying they planned to be in the ground in 12 months. And putting together flashy renderings and a video like that is not equivalent to a full design, so might not have been a bit investment. I think the land owner/developer is still Harvard Properties, based out of Regina.

I'd say this is pretty concrete. There were no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

This is disappointing to read. I don't like the idea of this space being developed into another office building. There are enough in the Eau Claire area. There needs to be more residential and places (stores, restaurants, coffee shops) for people to just be.

Harvard resubmitted their land use, working through their second Detailed Team Review. They also need to revise the original purchase and sale agreement if they want to move forward. There's challenges, but I've spent a lot of time on this file and it seems to me they have every intent on moving forward. The office phase will not be able to go ahead until a certain amount of residential density is achieved. Maybe some of the fear comes from the second phase where the market sits now (and where about half the residential yield is), the City wants to ensure there is a firm timeframe attached to its redevelopment or the land will go back to the City, In which case the City would then seek another developer to build.
