I wish I had your luck, I find that no matter the speed I drive I seem to hit every light. I have great luck with 9th Ave, but that seems to be the only road in the City where it is synced.

That would definitely have had an affect. I think another factor would be the bottleneck around Chinook. From the numbers posted, it is still as busy as it has ever been and in my experience it is consistently the worst part of Macleod. I think it is discouraging downtown-far south commutes.

A huge effect in 1989 the CTrain stopped at Anderson. The distance wasn't far enough and the transit culture was not as strong. I suspect many were driving to park at Anderson or didn't think it was worth to stop there so contributed to the numbers of drivers.
