^ Agreed. It's been a bit slow of late in terms of DTLA updates in general, so thanks Hunter!

Olympic/Hill, while certainly a "blah" project, has single-handedly created a nice little street wall on that block. The good news is that the other two TCA-designed projects slated for that block on Olympic probably won't be as offensive looking -- less stucco and more glass, metal, stone, and wood.

8th and Grand might also be a pleasant surprise given the steel frame construction. Fingers crossed!

These 7-story projects are certainly 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 for DTLA. That being said, it is so weird to walk down streets I've walked down for years and suddenly have an entire view obstructed because a new structure. 8th & Grand, Olympic & Hill, Ava, etc all do this.

My hope with the 7-story developments is their retail spaces are cheap enough to bring cheap reliable eats (like Panera & Chic-Fil-A) into DTLA.

This seems to be wrong given the fact that in the renderings (if done to scale) the building doesn't look to be that tall (almost 54 feet shorter than City Hall). And, if it has 10 floors those floors would have awfully high floor plates. What does your research say? Just curious.

It looks like its only going to be 10 stories tall, but I believe those 10 stories will be large. From the looks of the renderings I would guess 150' - 200'.

I think its interesting because its new. Give it 5 - 10 years and it'll be a genuine eyesore... It will lease up very quickly because everyone wants to be in DTLA's closest suburb.

Carmel Partners bought the project off of Astani a few years ago. They then downsized and made the project less appealing. Twice. The newest renderings are truly awful.

This is excellent news if its true. Funny how the bar gets lowered so low that this seems like a huge victory. I really hope they're going with that nonetheless.

Ya, the original was amazing, then second version was much worse but still ok for a 7 / 8 story but that last rendering is 🞵🞵🞵🞵.
