Hopefully down the line they'll add sound proofing or barrier for the noisiest stations along I-25. Wizened or somebody explained how that could be done.

Meanwhile over on the "freeway" side of the transportation street
All you need to know is right HERE.

I think they've wrapped up the public presentations of the SDEIS for the I-70 rebuild and we're in the final comment period for this project. I've never forgotten bunt-q posting while he was stuck in I-70 traffic so we need to get this puppy started and built.

I think that the Gold Line is going to end up with the best looking stations, with Olde Town Arvada being the finest.

The deck park is fantastic

I bet the people living the area are really happy to see this happening.

I love this plan as well. My only fear is that the anti-tax crowd will try to control the conversation about the alternatives (this option is, by a long shot, the most expensive still on the table), but I don't have any idea if they actually get involved with the EIS comment process so this fear may be completely unfounded.

It's a highway project with tolled lanes, the anti-tax crowd loves this sort of thing. Hell, they're probably over at CDOT right now jerking off the HPTE guys.

BTW, does anyone want to tell Bob Beauprez that you can't just raise $3-5B in highway funding by reissuing bonds at a lower rate and issuing more debt (little constraint called TABOR)? His fiscal knowledge is staggering.

I presume you mean the grid of white rectangles in upper right corner of the cover and not the rendering. In some of the other perspective renderings they appear to be canopies. Maybe they plan to use it for a regular farmer's market?

LOL. Back in the day when Republicans pushed to let the private sector build E-470 it made all the sense in the world. Not sure they ever really envisioned primary freeways being tolled so much however.

I think you are correct meaning I-70 may not have HOV lanes but strictly tolled - although I'm not certain about this. Not counting the deck cover FDOT is set to start a complete rebuild of I-4 in Orlando with the same toll lane design. It will be graced with intensive landscaping and fountains to make the drive pleasant along the $2.3 billion 21 mile project.

compliments of FDOT

You're kidding, right? The W Line just opened last year and the last light rail line will open in 2016 with the same style. They're iconic. Denver loves Retro.

There are fountains in just about every standing water pond in Orlando because of mosquitos I assume.

Love the rendering though, it accurately portrays traffic on I-4 the least busy tourist day at around 3:25AM.

Probably not, RTD is looking at replacing the initial cars that were purchased for the Central Corridor in 1994 as they are nearing the end of their service life later this decade. But the replacement cars would still be high-floor cars.

Oh come on, all the commuters will have decent transit. It's just the folks relegated to 'da bus that get the shaft. It's not RTD's fault you work in the suburbs in a life-style center.
