What the hell. So, i'm watching the video, and the woman says "don't be the wise guy to run in front of the street car." And i think "wow, that guy has my hat on." Then I realise that it's a video of me running across the rail (it's at 1:15 if you wanna see). So it makes it look like i randomly run in front of streetcars, well, the streetcar isn't running yet, so what the hell.

The Office Depot at Spring and Abercrombie Place (right next to the Cheetah) has a big "moving sale" sign.

Work has started on the retail unit of the Skyhouse South at the corner of Juniper and 7th. I heard it will be an Ace Hardware.

I had to refresh myself on 1163 West Peachtree. Novare Group does not waste much time with announcing then starting new projects. With this building being built on the 13 Street side, it will add some height when comparing it to the 820' One Atlantic Center. I count 32 floors so this is definitely a great infill building.

I know some may not be the biggest fan of Novare's point-click-paste apartment buildings but many cities would be grateful to have a local builder who is about to start their FOURTH 20+ story apartment building inside the city in less than two years. As more people move to Midtown, more stores and other amenities will follow.

Hopefully it looks like the rendering and not as gray as the other three buildings they have built so far.

Regent Partners files plans for 550,000-square-foot Buckhead tower

The Atlanta Business Chronicle is reporting that Atlanta developer Regent Partners is proposing a large mixed-use project that features a 550,000-square-foot office tower next to the Buckhead MARTA station and pedestrian bridge. The project would also include 300 apartments and 50 condos, and about 9,500 square feet of retail space, according to initial plans. It may be large enough to qualify under a state program known as a Development of Regional Impact.Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates Inc. is the architect.

Regent Partners presented the project to Atlanta Regional Commission staff earlier this month. The developer is scheduled to meet Wednesday with a Buckhead Development Review Committee.

Wow, that's exciting. Wish it were in Midtown, but there has been plenty of development to go around lately and it's always nice to see a REALLY big one go up anywhere in the city.

Look for a sizable announcement where the Maggiano's Buckhead restaurant is by the end of the year. I am hearing a convention sized hotel (Brand name starts with a H) is planned with retail/restaurants spaces.

This will be a great addition to that location. Being so close to the MARTA station helps a great deal. I eagerly await a rendering. Hopefully it is as architecturally interesting as the 3344 Peachtree building.

This would make alot of sense if true. Ackerman owns the land where Maggiano's is located. It also owned the lot where the Skyhouse Buckhead apartment tower is currently being built. It all makes sense now when one considers how large the parking deck for Skyhouse is AND that there is a 200 parking spaces easement in the deck for the land that Maggiano's resides on.

I won't hold my breath but it is definitely plausible. Brand name starts with a H you say? Well we know it's not Hyatt because there is a Grand Hyatt about four blocks south of this location.

Hahaha...

Well they did come to mind since they lack a high-end full service hotel in the immediate area...if I recall correctly. I wonder if it would be a Conrad or a Waldorf Astoria? I had always assumed that the developers of 98 14th Street were actively pursuing a Waldorf for that development.

The Buckhead Hilton project was announced for that site years ago... then it was downsized... then it was canceled.

Is this project coming back to life?!?!

You will be hearing shortly IHG is part of the 98 14th St project - InterContinental Hotel. I suspect they will be rebranding their InterContinental Property in Buckhead.

Okay...so no Hilton involvement at 98 14th Street which frees them to make their signature hotel in very posh Buckhead community. IHG puts an Intercontinental in the 98 14th Street development to compete against the Four Seasons? Then what would they rebrand the Buckhead Intercontinental? Does IHG have a brand higher than the Intercontinental? Surely they will not give up a Buckhead address for their flagship brand.

I'm just curious because Atlanta has a plethora of high end hotels. My apologies to everyone for going off actual development news.
