The saying "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission" applies here. Take the damn picture, and worry about consequences later!

I was going to say with all the SSPers hidden amongst the crowd, that'd be an opportune time for a flash mob - something in the theme that illustrates our excitement for the new library

I've started to really dislike how they are playing coy with us. Out with the renderings already! Why on earth does the media need an additional two-and-a-half weeks after this event to get high-resolution images out? Presumably those are already prepared for release?

Mine is just a Nikon 1 J1, but I'll try my best. I am worried I won't be able to see the whole thing. It runs until 8 right? I need to leave work at 5:30 and be back by 7. Hopefully they'll let me back in :S

I would take my DSLR if I could. I will have to head straight down from work and so iPhone it is.

If you're going to reveal, provide the high-res images - otherwise you're going to have the media, in any event, publishing fuzzy images captured off a video screen. What's the benefit of waiting? *says while looking at fuzzy photos of the library captured off a screen*

So we should lower the bar on our expectations in terms of what we'll see?

Edit - hey we got a shoutout in the Herald today

What if accountants have beaten it with the cheap ugly stick and everybody cries instead of posting pics?

Yeah, it's a pretty terrible marketing tactic. There's no such thing as two first-impressions. You can wait till the appropriate time when you're ready, or release it all now. But either way, this is going to be a story tomorrow, and it's potentially not going to have as much impact as it could.

I know a few of you must have renderings on hand. Can one of you post before 6? I have a final that starts right at that time that goes to 9. Cell phones must be turned off. Fml lol.

Please & Merci! Lol
