Interesting how the blocks are different widths and that one with the [ shaped building only has a partial alley.
Maybe the site will eventually be combined with the site across the alley (that would even be big enough for an office development)

Metrotown is very impressive from Quarry Rock now (northeast of Deep Cove). Lots of tourists were commenting on it, not even sure what it was

Moda's site got redeveloped rather quickly since one of the buildings on the lot burnt down a few years back
I lived in one of the buildings that was demolished for Concord's Met 2 development, we were given 3 months notice and those 3 months were rent free, the only cash we got was the return of the security deposit once we moved out. Concord also fired the live-in building managers 4 months before the final move-out date and provided no maintenance for the properties, most of the hallways were completely dark during the last few months of living there because they would not even replace the burnt out lightbulbs and the building walkways were completely overgrown with 3+ foot tall weeds.

Thanks for your answer about this.

I've hiked Quarry Rock and I agree. It looks great. Doesnt come across so well in pictures though.

Metrotown almost has a downtown LA vibe going for it with its very tall and slim spaced out towers in the centre of the region that are visible from almost everywhere.

Nice shot - easy to place things because it seems to be straight down along the SkyTrain line.

Lightbulbs are so expensive or hard to replace that residents couldn't do that themselves instead of "suffering" a dark hallway?

Did concord have to give 3 months rent free. That seems pretty nice of them if they didn't have to

Building maintenance is not the tenants responsibility. These were lights outside of the suites and many of them required a ladder to reach.

I don't think they need to do 3 months, but when you're kicking everybody out of a building, best to be safe:

That being said, not replacing lightbulbs is just being douchey.

I can't stand that mindset of they are "kicking" them out. It's such bullshit

"kicking them out"

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It's derogatory, coldly pragmatic, inhuman, and treats people like numbers and not human beings. Welcome to the world.

If not downtown LA, then certainly Century City?

Some background on the ONNI Gilmore Station lands from the Brentwood Station blog:

Quote:
In 2002, the former owner of the property, Standard Life Assurance Company, received rezoning approval in principle for a proposed mid- and high-rise office project.

It was to be a new regional office for Standard Life and to include over one million square feet of office space.

It also included a smaller multi-family and mixed use component along Dawson.

But the rezoning never moved forward to final approvals “with the applicant citing changes in the office market which made the proposal no longer economically feasible,” the report said.

Between 2004 and 2010 Standard Life tried to amend the redevelopment concept but one suitable to be forwarded to council never materialized.

The company sold the site to Onni last year.

Is Kingsway similar to Westwood Boulevard? Hardly
